What do you think of these jars? Are they any good for grains?

Hi folks,
I spotted these smooth bad boys in my local shop.
What do you think about them? Are they any good for grain spawn?
Their 900ml.
I try to find good jars on UK market.

I just recycle old jars. They work fine, some tall coffee hars have pp5 lids that can be pc'd. Pretty much the same size as that but cost nothing and reuses waste.

If those jars are in the jam-making section then they can be PC'd just fine. I prefer the two-piece ring lids, you can sometimes get them in Home Bargains for lke 99p. Alternatively you can go to the pickle section of a supermarket and buy the biggest pickle jars you can find, eat the pickles (or store them in a plastic tub in the fridge) and voila, large cheap jars!

Actually, in your photo I can see the two-piece ring lidded jars beside those jam jars, they are probably about 500ml size. Maybe there are litre size ones elsewhere on the shelf?
Those 500ml size are what I use most because quart jars don't really fit in my PC. It's a little more work to fill more, smaller jars than fewer large jars, but I can fit 7 of them in my PC compared to only two x litre jars.

Target and grocery stores around me all sell Ball brand quart jars for 12 bucks a dozen. For some reason they are expensive af everywhere online. I'm not trying to hate on anyone's financial situation, but idk why not just get the goods for that price.

OP mentioned they're in the UK, and it can be tricky to get decent jars here locally. The first few I bought were £3.99 each, so it gets expensive if you need a dozen jars!

Just wanted to say good for you OP, glad you’re out looking for ways to make your own stuff instead of buying more pre-sterilized junk. You won’t go back
