exhaust from Grow tent

Im trying to work through a plan to use a grow tent in the garage possibly. would be fun to have a few bags of lions mane or oysters.
my question is : if the tent is in the garage, what is the best way to exhaust outside.
Run ducting to a small hole near garage or?
I looked but nothing found regarding this.

Definitely vent it outside, you don't want spores filling up your garage!!
The shorter the exhaust pipe/ducting the less harder your fan has to work to pump it out, and in turn the more airflow capability.

The reason it is harder for air to flow out is that the air has friction because it is rubbing against the ducting. For this reason you want to use smooth pipe nothing with a wire in it as the flexible pipe has. I use 4" pvc it is cheap.
If you have a window in your garage you can place a piece of plywood or board in the window and cut a 4-inch hole in it for your pipe. Then just shut the window on the board, you may also want to use a dryer vent so birds don't build a nest in your pipe. You can insulate the plywood with foam board insulation if you need to. If you don't have a window use a dryer vent and cut a hole in the garage.
hear are cheap water-resistant fans you will need a 12 volt 5 amp power supply to run it...

I'd recommend 4" pvc pipe, hellava lot easier to clean too!
I toiled around with the idea of the window vent as well, in the end,if you plan on any kind of long term grow its much more reasonable to just bite the bullet and pop a 4" dryer vent into a wall with pvc exhaust leading to it!

No landlord and no window in the garage.
Is the exhaust fan you suggested better than this, I know there a big cost difference but trying to do this once vs rebuying due to poor choices ahead of time.

I’m looking at a 5x5, 4x2 or similar for the garage corner.
Run a tote fogger on the outside pushing humidity in
Couple shelves inside with fan
Exhaust at the base 4/6inch inline exhausting out
Sure not sure how I can place a 4inch pvc out anywhere

That's only a $10 cost difference from what SHROOMS suggested, which the one he suggested is water resistant! Much more preferred in a high humidity environment!
If your mind set is "one and done" remember you get what you pay for! I'd possibly suggest this fan in that case, a little higher quality and better warranty https://www.amazon.com/PF-100-Mitigation-190CFM-Waterproof-Outdoor/dp/B08BC6CMHY/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=4+inch+waterproof+inline+fan&qid=1608395681&sr=8-3 But another thing to note is no matter what you buy,it will fail..eventually that's where the warranty is helpful, as well as a back up of everything you can afford to have..for more peace of mind in the future.

When you say it would be tricky to place a 4" pvc out, do you mean of your tent or the wall?
If tent, most hydroponic tents come with 4" holes for this very purpose.
If wall, couldn't you simply jigsaw a hole and put in a 4" dryer vent that can connect to pvc? - is it just that there is something in the way?

..to make it even easier,I'd suggest shelling out$25 and buying a 4" hole saw bit for a drill, very little fuss, exact fit!

I would just find where I wanted to put the dryer vent on the inside then drill a hole through the wall in the center of where you want the hole. Then from the outside mark the circle and cut it out with a jigsaw. If you don't have a jigsaw lows and home depot has a free rental. You just buy it and return it and get your money back when you are done.

I’m trying to make as less ware on the house is why I’m trying to find ways around cutting holes in a panel or the wall.

Agree, I could t find the one I was looking for. It was a bit more but see the point of it being water resistant and not sure if the other one is

It all depends on how the garage is built if it has soffit so the roof can breathe then bring the duct through the soffit.

Send us some pics of the garage so we can advise you best on tapping a little hole thru it.
