Oregon coast in mixed living/decaying dune grass. Found on a peninsula enclosing a coastal bay. Solid stem, mostly white. Cap size ranging from dime-sized to about the size of a half dollar. Bronzish color and hygrophonous. Spore print looks like some combination of purple, brown and black?
Did not initially bruise. After leaving out to dry overnight, a blue bruising became apparent on the caps.

Since when cyanescens grows in decaying dune grass ? That is Azurescens habitat but I'm pretty confident this is not Azurescens.
I think P.strictipes is probably conspecific with P.semilanceata, but that is just my opinion.

I think this is a mature Psilocybe azurescens given the location and habitat.

I uploaded another pic of the handful I picked yesterday. I've picked/dried tons of these this year. Have yet to eat any, as I wanted to get another opinion on the ID. I found cyans in wood chips in town, and they look a little different than these. Figured they're either cyans or azurens. I should add these were found within dune grass amongst scotch broom. I was probably a quarter to half mile inland from the dunes themselves.

Cyanescens are frequently found in decaying coastal dune grass in Northern California.

Nah, they are likely P. cyanescens.
The name P. strictipes is debatable, it is considered synonymous with P. semilanceata aka liberty caps, and looks nothing like these.

The thing is, the cyans I found in town in wood chips (pictured below) look different. Thicker stipes, and seemingly caps, too. They blue easier. It had be thinking the dune mushrooms I’ve come across may be azures. That’s why I’ve been confused on the ID of the mushrooms at the top of this post. Could it just be due to differences in growing conditions?

yeah the density of the substrate makes the biggest difference in appearance IME but there are also several phenotypes/strains/varieties in the wild. what you have are very typical
