Hmm..no? I use hardwood fuel pellets and wheat brand 20%, 62% moisture content. PC for 3 hours and inoculate with 0.5-1 quart of spawn?
This is how I do most of my edibles.
Did that help?

Niiiice dude Those units are great. I recommend getting some window screens to cut out and lay over the racks so the mushrooms don't fall through to the bottom, just for ease of cleanup and saving time.

Try using disposable turkey trays or parchment paper on the racks. I use in the same unit, it will save you from having to sweep up the small bits that fall through the rack....
Whoops, priscombv beat me to it.

I bought these for my dehydrator trays and they work great! DGQ 10Pcs Non Stick Silicone Food... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0816BZJLH?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Just cut to fit if needed. Also nice because you can just lift up the whole tray worth and funnel into a bag or tray as needed.

This is kind of weirding me out...
Most of the pins in this shoebox have these odd beige balls / discoloration forming at the very top of the cap.

Not entirely sure if this is some contamination or just a widespread mutation. Anyone seen something similar?

thanks it was just odd to see it occurring on most of the pins from MS.
Maybe something inherent to B+ variety? (just going off this https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/25708210)

B+ just does this. It's a genetic thing. Every B+ Grow I've ever done. EVER! will have those little hats. They're harmless. The mutation can occur within other cubes due to environmental issues/genetics. But B+ displays it readily.

My first time doing a casing layer. Thinking I'll give it a couple more days I spawned 1.5qt Blue Meanie cubes 1:2 with coir 6 days ago with the help of faht's post https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27028841

I do a trick to knock the coir off that I read Faht talk about a while ago. i fill the bag they go into with air and shake and tumble them and it knocks all the coir loose. Basically grab the two corners opposite each other and tug on them to cause the mushrooms to bounce around in the bag and knock off the coir. I then transfer to another bag minus all the coir left in the previous bag
I'm just honestly too impatient to harvest leaving stumps and I dont have any good knives for harvesting really I need to go find somethin good

Exactly what I was wondering... thanks for confirmation. It was a slightly disconcerting to wake up to, but now that I am sure they are harmless I'll just pretend they are cozy little winter hats for these guys.
