Identification of the alien on my agar. Oyster tissue culture.
    #27093573 - 12/17/20 06:12 AM (3 years, 1 month ago)

I took some tissue samples from a few common wild oyster mushrooms and put them to agar. All of them grew what look like primordia. It started about 4 days after visible mycelium started to form. The tissue culture from my Golden and blue oyster look normal and are growing twice as fast.

Yep that looks like pins, not sure if that's what you were asking.  You've got a strain that wants to fruit it looks like!

Have some medicinal mushrooms and want to get the most out of them?  Try this double extraction method.

Yeah that's pretty much what I was asking just thought is was weird that it had barely grown in to the agar and just went to town. The pins look kinda like coral a little. Also thought is was weird that the mycelium wants to grow up of the plates in little tuff's but one here and there.
