Habitat:
found on grass under oak tree in San Francisco

Gills:
stem white gills grey brown

Cap:
half inch diameter

I agree with Psathyrella,  Conocybe would have brighter rust colored spores.

Probably Psathyrella corrugis but also look into Parasola conopilea.
