Here we go again!

First grow in a life time (20 years) birthed my first brf cake today. Wasn't completely done but I lost my patience. Trimmed a bit off the bottom until I hit where the cake was fully colonized all the way through. Have it soaking now for twelve hours then I will transfer to my ghetto fruiting chamber. Goal here is just a couple grams to get my feet wet. Have more cakes colonizing for some manure spawn or who knows. One thing at a time. Wish me luck!

Good luck bud 👌
Whats your FC looking like?
You've brushed up on new teks in the past 20 years right?
Pretty much all of the old school stuff is outdated.

Thanks! I have not at all. Re-read the pf tek and got to work. My fruiting chamber is that pot. Three-four inches of perlite sitting in two and half - three inches of water. I have an air stone submerged in the water. Six watt pump split two ways turned to low for fresh air, only one line fed into chamber. Loosely fitted clear bag on the top. Voila. LOL.
I stopped eating shrooms because they turned on me. If I enjoy this first trip then I'll update my game.

Ok way too much water. You just want the perlite to be wet, no standing water.
We used to think humidity was the big factor but everyone generally agrees FAE(fresh air exchange) is more important as long as your substrate has a high surface humidity.
The thing you're wanting is as constant amount of evaporation as possible while replacing whats evaporated. Don't drown them.
We also generally ditched pumps and airstones as well.
Look up the humidity chamber. Its the hot new thing. Super simple and low maintenance and more forgiving than the SGFC apparently. (Shotgun fruiting chamber- the gold standard for PF for the past decade)

No prob! I'm a noob myself, just finishing my 2nd grow and still learning but I study up on here at least an hour a day.
If i could point you in a direction, check out the profiles of some of the mods for the Mush Cult forum, specifically Cronicr, pastywhyte, and Bodhisatta.
They're on the ball with the newer stuff and should have links to all their trusted teks in their profiles/journals.
Also check out Matteah and Violet's teks.
Violet does some really interesting work with in-vitro that I'm gonna try next using literally nothing but quart sized screwtop zip lock bottles and grass seed. No verm, no perlite, no fruiting chamber, with practically no contams factor or maintenance.
