    #27092203 - 12/16/20 01:35 PM (3 years, 1 month ago)

Day 16 of fruiting and still no pins. Puerto Rican strain. Wondering if all this cotton like mycelium is normal??

Ooh. That looks funky to me.  I'm not sure if I would attempt to fruit that or not.  I'll let someone else decide that for you.  In the meantime, if I were you, I would begin working on another grow.  Did you prep that bag yourself or order it pre-made?

What looks funky about it?? It’s all white except some metabolite colors in some spots. Cotton looking mycelium is not normal??

Thats not looking good, seems like Trichoderma-contamination to me.
Not 100% sure, but would say 90% this one is over - U shouldn't open this bag in your appartmet, otherwise u'll get maybe bis problems with contamination in close future.

Look up here for trichoderma

Edit: After comparing to trich-pics I'm 100% sure its contamination - This is not how Cubensis looks like.

I've seen super tomatose mycelium like this before. If it were Trich I'd expect to be seeing green already, but...

You said it's been 16 days since you introduced FAE?

I think something's funky about it, being that bright white and all bubbly looking. Plus being in fruiting conditions for 16 days, I usually have fruits by then, and that's 16 days from spawning.

If you blow up the photo you can see what looks like hyphal knots under all the cotton. I would wait it out, but its up to you.

That’s what I was thinking. I usually get pins by the 12th day. Not sure what to do

so what happened to it? was it contaminated?

you should learn agar! Definitely takes away a lot of guessing work out of spores/syringes

yeah keep telling yourself that's voluntary

Yes it was contaminated. Agar seems very interesting but it seems somewhat difficult.

It has a learning curve but it's totally worth it, the money you would have spent on additional spore syringes you'll get back and then some.

like every 1 agar dish can be cloned to at least 2 more, it goes a very very long way.

I highly recommend Bodhi's comprehensive agar tek, pastywhyte dishes tek is also good (DO NOT USE RED DYE ON AGAR) , after those d3monic has a tek on transferring using a hole punch thing, but those first two are enough to get the idea.

PDA agar is a great start all the ingredients are readily available and itll give you a feel for mixing it up and what its supposed to look like.

for pastyplates my friends use ziploc extra small squares 3$ for 8pk at walmart
