Cake contam ? What to do :(
    #27091575 - 12/16/20 05:07 AM (3 years, 1 month ago)

Hello, I have three PJ jars waiting to consolidation.

I have one jar, which seems to be fully colonized, that shows this morning tiny white dots over the surface of the substrate and the jar.

It looks like yeast but I am not sure as I am new to this hobby.

As it showed after nearly full colonisation do you think i can still use this jar ?

Thanks folks

Tanks a lot !

If someone could double ckeck this, I am very cautions of putting it in my room and I don't want to ruin future projects.

Should I open it outside and check the smell or wait and see

i would give it another day or two, if you see anything that doesnt look like the healthy mycelium thats there, id toss it. yes you can open it elsewhere and give it a smell. if its sour, toss it. if it smells earthy you should be ok. once you open it however make sure youre ready to fruit it. also this is just my opinion. someone else with more experience may have a better one. i only have about 10 grows under my belt.
