Lol I feel you man mine was stuck at “shipping label printed” for I think two months.
That’s weird it says out for shipping though. I kinda think the guys just don’t want to deal with something big and heavy if it’s a good sized one. They prob get assigned your package, see it and think nope fuck that and leave it for the next guy.

Anyone else do prep work when there isn't much going on?
lol ive got an entire huge deep freezer in the garage thats packed full as hell with prepared and bagged substrates and casings. each bag of sub goes to 1 of my trays and each bag of casing cases each one. i make up all my shit a lil at a time and it adds up after a while. but now im set on subs and casings for the entire new year now. so all i gtta do is pull out a bag(s) 2 days prior to spawning and im good to go. it makes it super easy when it comes down to it. i usually will make up and store 12 jars of rye at a time which lasts me about 6 months.

its all bagged in 5lb mycobags and then bagged in a ziploc freezer bag. i write the dates they were made on a label and use the oldest first. that way they cycle thru. ive done it this way goin on 2 yrs now and ive never had an issue with my subs or casings. and its so nice to just take it out a cpl days before using and not having to do any work other than dump 1 qt jar of colonized grain into the sub bag to let that colonize and then il break it up and lay it to my tray(s) allow it to recover then case it and place in the fc😃😃 easy easy easy

Ive got a yr old bag of pasteurized casing Im about to use. never went into deepfreeze. Im curious to seee how it goes. also, noc'd some supplemented sawdust bags from about a yr ago with oyster spawn the other day. they seem to be doing alright so far. deep freeze is a great idea! mines full of fish tho

lol i took out about a whole cow and gave a ton of meat away in order to fill it up with horse shit, straw, peat and verm😂😂but it was worth it for the ease of it all. its so so nice to be able to just pull it out and spawn it like that. it just saves so much time in the long run. but wow a year old without freezing it. thats crazy you have to keep me posted on how that all turns out. im very curious there. did u just forget you had it? or was it on purpose? personally ive never used anything that was more than a cpl weeks old without having been frozen. keep me posted on that plz would ya

When you deep freeze grain, they don’t burst and get all mushy?

I should confess, i stuck an unflamed scalpel into my best slant the other week. I was so mad when i realized what i did after i put the piece to the plate. I flamed up and took a second cut immedietly, luckily the plate's lookin good after T1 and i'm setting up to re-slant.

It seemed like its just how he does things.
He said once they warm up they spawn and fruit just fine.

I've killed LC's and spore syringes in a regular fridge that was just a bit too cold but not freezing. Liquid transfers cold orders of magnitude better than grain spawn, so that could explain how grain spawn could be able to survive the freezer. My guess is that the myc on the outer grains will simply die and the mycelium in the core of the jar will be better protected and could be able to survive. Would like to see it to believe it anyways. People do weird shit.
