Hi all,
In short - I've been given an old 18litre pressure cooker and I really need your help to identify it so I can buy a new rocker/ weight and give it a service.
Long version - I'm over the moon to have been given an old pressure cooker by a friend.
It's in great condition but it's missing it's rocker/ weight and is probably due a service. Here's the problem - there's no sign of a brand or model so i have no idea what i need to buy.
Searching on the internet suggests it may be a Tefal and potentially ex-military but I can't find any more info than that.
Summary of what I know:
It's aluminium Made in France Made in 1986 (maybe - see below) Numbers stamped on the top: 132 2800 followed by 1986 below. I presume to be the production date but I could be wrong
Heeeeellllpppp!

Update - i've found this link that confirms it is definitely a Tefal but still can't find any information on model or its pressure rating

Damn, hard to find the name of a pressure cooker with no name.. I did some looking, no luck. I'll bet a rocker weight from a presto will keep most cookers at or very near 15psi. I'd order a presto 23 replacement weight. The other thing is the rubber seal needs replacement about once a year. If it seals, you're good. Otherwise I'd try to find a replacement seal for a cooker with the same diameter. Or just buy a presto 23 for under $100. (The induction compatible one is a sweet upgrade, even without an induction cooktop the thang works bettah) Love! good luck!

Pressure cookers are fairly unusual in the UK and prices reflect that. A 23quart cooker would be around 200USD here.
Replacing the seal is simple enough and readily available via ebay.
Any further thoughts on the weight? If i have no option but to use something from another model, would it be advisable to replace the actual valve/ outlet too?
