Back at it, couple questions.

So I posted this question in the beginner section but there seems to be more traffic over here. First grow in twenty years. I used to be a member here but can't remember the password and that email is long dead. But anyway, I'm just trying to fruit a couple brf cakes to get enough for me and the wife to have a nice trip. Couple noob questions: how bad is peeking at my colonizing jars? I do it quite often. Soaking the cakes between flushes is to rehydrate, right? Why would we want / need to soak before the first flush?
Then my main question is about light intensity. I want to fruit these in my cannabis grow tent. The light is rather powerful. I figured I could cover my ghetto chamber with bubble wrap to block more light, would it matter? What kind of intensity can they tolerate?

They don't need to be in complete darkness. 12/12 works for me. Not sure about light intensity though. I see people using led strips or tube lights and it seems to be sufficient. Assuming it's a small setup, keeping them towards the bottom shouldn't hurt.

Thanks! It's a rather intense light. I don't have a par meter so I couldn't tell you exactly how intense but it's bright and strong. Easily maxes out my phone lux app at 50k from five feet. It would be tucked in the corner but I don't know how much that helps as the light is designed to light the space I have it in.

I would mostly be worried about radiant heat from the lights. When I have had too bright lights, it was from the heat, not the light. I'd get concerned over 75f. others here would say up to 80f.

Thanks! That's good news I have the setup in place to regulate the climate in there.
