What PC - Pressure Cooker - should I buy in UK?
    #27085701 - 12/12/20 12:51 PM (3 years, 1 month ago)

Hello all,

I struggle to find pressure cooker in the UK, Presto ones are easy to get in US, with delivery to UK, Presto 23qt cost about 250$ - so its a no, no.

I would like to be able to put 5-6 jars into the PC.

Also, what UK available jars are best for grain spawn? 1 pint or 2 pint jars are the best?

Thank you

I think if you want any sort of quality you have to spend the money and import an American pc
For grain spawn most people use quart jars (1 litre)
But you can use anything smaller if you want to

I wanted to get into motorcycles but who has the money for the registration and insurance? Let alone the bike, the clothes, the maintenance, tools, etc, etc. $250 isn’t a lot of money to spend on a hobby, I’ve spent more on paintball equipment than I did on my AA 75X. Save the money, buy something decent, be happy you delayed gratification now for something better tomorrow.

I got a high top pressure cooker from argos for like 40 quid about 7 years ago. Not sure if they still sell them. It's never let me down.

You are completely right.
I was hoping i could get something decent in uk.

You know, in US 80$ is enough for good old Presto.
I was hoping something for 80£ could be found in UK.

I am not saying i will not spend 250$ on good thing.

I am currently browsing the market.

This forum is US oriented, i know here are people from all over the world. Its just that all references, TEK and recommendations to buys this or that is for us market.

I was hoping to find equivalents of US things here in UK. Save environment on transportation etc.

Thank you anyway for motivating me to get something good.

Presto's are honestly wonderful.  I have been using one of mine for 3 years with at least one PC cycle a week, usually 2+, and it still holds up perfectly despite looking a little rough around the edges.

You'll want spare gaskets to replace on it every-so-often but really shouldn't need anything else for it

They're totally worth $250 if you really wanna get into cultivation

It's a Prestige Hi-dome.

I appreciate it's nowhere near as big as an American 23qt but it does the job. I looked on ebay and it seems you could get a 23qt for about £110, which i might consider. Just worried it might get caught at customs and added tax might get slapped on. Amyone any experience importing them?

I ordered Presto 23qt from US, on ebay. At point of ordering ebay calculates all customs and shipping. So it should be all summed up during checkout.
I paid for everything 168£ for a new unit - just box damaged.

Nice man that will be well worth it in the long run for sure. Trust me. Gaskets are cheap enough to replace and prestos last forever long as you use em right

Don't run it dry like some of the other people here and warp it after 1st use and it will last many years

Gaskets are cheap, in US, to bring them to UK is so much more expensive, the replacement gasket $9.95 + delivery of $24.50 :frown:
