First Time Grow - BRF Cakes - possible contamination

Hey everyone! First time poster and long timer lurker. I had twelve jars of BRF cakes. I used B+ and Golden Teacher spore solutions. I used a SAB in my office which is basically an oversized closet. I sprayed the room with Lysol and wiped the walls with bleach. Showered and wore clean clothes when I did the inoculation. On November 11th. I was very nervous, but I think I did ok.
Out of the 12 jars. Two didn’t spawn at all and one I noticed contaminate on early and took it outside to bury. The remaining nine were seeming to do fine, except the all colonized at different rates. Two are completely finished and I dunked them today, because they had started to pin.
Several seem close, but I think a couple might be contaminated one with cobweb and the others I think Trich?Any help?
I did read several contamination threads and I’m pretty sure I’ll toss the obvious ones out. I’m just a little concerned about the ones that are very close to completion. Thank you all.

Looks like more than one organism growing in several jars, do you notice the apparent difference in growth patters in places? Almost like it's not only one and the same thing colonizing. And they should be mostly finished at this point after a month of colonization so yeah so far I'm not seeing any good signs that look promising for this grow. Gl I future projects, maybe construct a comfortable SAB to work in, around 50-100L in dimension depending on what you suits you best. SAB is not absolutely necessary for inoculating cskes with spore syringes but will undoubtedly improve your sterile work and thus the overall success rate. gl

Hey man! Thanks for responding. Yeah. I noticed the clear demarcation between the two organism “regions,” which made me pretty suspicious. Do you think all those jars are dead in the water? I have a few more that are almost done colonizing that I’m pretty sure are done.
Also, your water tub tek guy, right? I’m dunking two cakes now that colonized fine. Finding your tek was a boon cuz I’m doing my stuff in a pretty small space with my gf.

I'll post you a link here soon to another thread where I'm commenting on the same topic, so I'll get back to you soon! Yeah I'm the guy that popularized the Water Tub or Humidity Chamber concepts but people have been growing different substrates in unmodified-tub kinds of setups probably long before I knew anything about mushrooms. I basically just copied the concept behind the successful fruiting environments inside shoeboxes or any kind of bulk grows in tubs and ai used it to fruit cakes in. I believe the very first prototype to the HC was a shoebox containing a spent, overly hydrated bulk sub with the cake right on top of the nasty sub (on a piece of foil of course) lol

Thanks! I appreciate it. I kept my expectations low for my first grow. I figured a lot of this would be a learning process. I know for sure my sterilize procedure could’ve been better. I do think out of my twelve I have about 5-7 viables, which makes a girl happy lol. If I get one flush off one cake I’ll consider it a success and try again.
That origin story for the tub tek is absolutely hilarious. Love it.

Two more cakes colonized without contams it looks like, which is exciting. Should I post pics to make sure? I'm gonna take the contaminated ones outside to bury them. Now that I am a bit more confident I think I will do a lot better with the second batch. I was even struggling with the needle injections, cuz I wasn't used to working with such a small needle injection. The four that survived are my last four I inoculated.
Can you send me the link for the similar thread if possible? Thank you
