Regular petris vs No pour

I love no pour dishes except for the fact that they have so much condensation inside. Ive tried slowly comin to temp in the PC, waiting till theres no more heat comin off the dishes before I close the lids but there's always lots of moisture. So I decided to do a sleeve of hot pour dishes. And the growth of the culture has left the no pours in the dust. I have a bunch of PP containers coming that I was going to try sterilizing in my PC and using as regular petri, I hate the waste of PS dishes.

The reusability of the containers is the main factor that has motivated me to keep using no-pour. Petris look great, but I would feel bad about all that single-use plastic.
I have been having great results so far using the Holy Grail tek.

I hate the waste too but I love petris so much. My biggest grip with the no pours is the tall edges. I have used both a ton but I've gone back to petris and going to keep using them until I invest in a nice glass set.

I use josex no pour tek and have zero condensation problems.
All the condensation usually evaporates after about a week.
Still I loved very much using petris, its just beautifull. At the end of the day thats what they are designed for, right? Unfortunately couldnt afford to keep buying them

Disposable plastic petris are typically polystyrene. That's recycling code #6, which means they're recyclable.
-------------------- "I thought to myself 'Boy, I'm sure glad there's nobody here to see this because this is exactly the sort of thing that gets people riled-up and they assume you're dying and that something has to be done. Where if you're alone, you know, you either come through it or you die, but in any case you avoid the fuss.'" - Terrence McKenna

Thanks Amigo! Never saw the Josex thread before. Am definitely going to try it out though. The side holes and removing from the PC while hot sound good to me. My new containers have the hinge but I was planning on cutting those off.

In my area only #1,2 are recycled these days. So much waste goes into the trash. Especially because so many things are #5.

Got them all ready. The hinge removed easily. Can't wait to try a run with these.

I know they weren't. But IMO its because if not removed then its a place you can't sanitize. And it was a painstaking task to carefully cut them all off. But that is all done so now they are ready for use.

In my experience. no-pour cons: lots of condensation, limited visibility, smaller surface area, reduced gas exchange, takes up a lot more space. Pros: don’t have to PC then pour agar, reusable
