My first time making blue juice (Ice water extraction)

I've been growing these little B+ babies for a few months now. I am pretty new to it, but for the most part I have been drying them in the dehydrator, grinding them up and putting them in capsules for microdosing.
A few days ago I had a few decent sized fruits ready to harvest (55 grams fresh) - but I didn't want to dry them. I remembered that Stamets had talked about Blue Juice - just chop them up fresh and put them in crushed ice and let it thaw in the fridge - that seems easy! (for the record I do not drink alcohol, so alcohol extraction methods are not what I am interested in) So I did just that. Chopped them up and layered them in a little mason jar with ice. Into the fridge. But then the next day I had a few more pop up that wanted to join the party (about 65 grams). By this time I had tried to scout out some more information and read that freezing the fruit first help break down the cell walls so more goodness is extracted by the cold water. I froze them. The next morning I poured the melted water and bits from Day one into a ziploc and then broke up the new frozen ones and added them to the mix. Added a bit more water so it was covered - put back in the freezer. Took it out before it was 100% frozen - about slushie state and thawed in the fridge again. Then I moved all of it to a quart mason jar and put it back in the fridge. Does this seem correct? Do I strain it now? Leave the bits in for longer? Any tips that could help me out would be very appreciated. I am no where near an experience traveler yet - but I was thinking of trying 1/2 oz tomorrow to get a feel for it's strength. After that, is it best to freeze it to ice trays for long term storage? here is what it looks like right now:

I'm not super familiar with the process but I'd freeze it for good pretty soon. Standing water isn't great for psilocin.
Also, when you dose, make sure you know the concentration of your solution. Dose in Grams/Volume in litres = Grams per Litre.

Here is step by step instructions. It's pretty simple really.

Looks good! I plan on making some my next harvest. How does it taste?

Blue juice is crap. Boil to extract. CWE is just worse unless you live in an igloo. Blue shit is lost potency btw. If you like the blue color add some food dye.

Pretty much an overkill procedure.
Chop your fresh shrooms into small pieces, put into boiling water, let simmer for 10 to 15min, strain out the solids, done.
No need to freeze or thaw anything. It's just a waste of time and work.

Why do you think it's a waste of time? If the blue juice recipe works then that would be a great way to preserve the Psilocin which reacts sensitive to heat, no?

it would be fantastic to get the opinion of someone who is into chemistry and can tell the exact reactions going on in both ways, boiling tea and blue juice, like this molecule does this and that molecule does that.
i can only add that green tea, especially sencha, has a fresh, intense aroma when being coldwater extracted over night - in comparison to the usual 70°C preparation, that is similar, but definitly different.
and regarding blue juice being a waste: paul stamets promotes blue juice. period.

Blue juice would be soooo cool if it was somehow put into tonic water under black lights
Because it would be blue and also glow

It's a waste of time because it takes several hours till the ice dissolves. A tea is done in 15 minutes, with exactly the same outcome.
No, heat does not harm psilocin or psilocybin, that's a myth. You can boil, simmer, cook, fry or roast your mushrooms without losing any potency.
It's oxygen and sunlight (UV light beams) that break down the alkaloids. That's why you should store them airtight and dark.
Blueing of the liquid is a sign for oxidation, yes. So if it's blue, then a small part of the goodies already degraded into inactive compounds. To prevent oxidation, simply add an anti-oxidant like citric acid to the solution. It won't turn blue though, so it's no true "blue juice" anymore, but it should be stable a bit longer. Without any anti-oxidant this blue juice will degrade further and be inactive within several days.
