What is beyond Tequila, Vodka, Whiskey, Rum, Cognac, Scotch, Mezcal and that which has already been attempted/tried?

Uprades in Potassium distribution? Electolytes and new, higher flavours and aromas? New distributors? New friends/colleagues?

Its certainly moved into the realm of chemistry outright. Alot of money has been spent by the big guys at this point and turns out its hard to beat millenia of serendipitous happenstance. I've been playing around with a few ideas mostly involving rapid aging processes. Most have my focus has been on essentially developing ways to bring the truly top self thats just so far and away better than most of the things produced to the masses. After reading your post im thinking what could be totally new and I mean not just some fad we see come and go but some new spirit or process entirely.

I'm curious about this thread.  Do you guys have any links?

The future of many liquors is dodgey, agave is overharvested hence the tequila spike in price and mezcals boom in popularity, established vineyards are no longer producing the same quality via climate change.

Unless things have changed i an in chiefs boat here, modern versions can taste good but don't have the depth and polish as traditional made liquor and infusions are the same.

I could care less about another petroleum-based flavor of something something.

Like I said most of what I've looked into as been focused on rapid aging techniques for wines and whiskey or other aged spirits. Particularly in creating free radicals through ultrasonic vibration or gamma light.

Thanks for the links, should have prefaced my post before with I'm a decade plus of managing bars and working the bar so although I love alcohol history that wiki post really didn't help too much with the subject at hand.

Curious to see about rapid aging. I'm biased but skeptical.

Ultrasonic aging works to a degree. It certainly seems to notacebly smooth things out. You can take a white neutral spirit and bring it to something comparable to a 3-4 year aged whiskey in no time with a whole Lotta shakin and filtering. You can take a 3-4 year and make it smooth as silk like something twice as old atleast. The hard part is developing actual nuance and layers of complexity. I'm talking about doing something that takes 20 years at the flip of a switch. Talking about a 20 year old whiskey for the price of a 3 year. I think it can be done the trouble is scaling it up.

A little different than what you're asking, but I have one for you.  There is a machine called an AWOL machine that is essentially alcohol without drinking.  You pretty much hit this tube like you're sort of hitting hooka and its gets you drunk without the hangover because of how quickly it goes through your system as a vapor.  They seem fairly effective as well.

Anyway somebody is going to take this technology and make it smaller/handheld soon.  Don't know when.  Don't know who.  Just makes fucking sense. 

As far as your actual question, dude man above is on the money with 25 year bourbon being created through technological advances in 3 years.  I'm constantly seeing articles about people experimenting and tweaking with oak and the processes within.  Whats cool is there will be multiple people with different ways of creating a convincing 25 year old whiskey through technology.  Imagine blending those and creating something nobody has tasted yet.  Anyway I'm high...

ive also done a few experiments over the years with rapid aging - using both ultrasonic machines as well as rapid push/pull using a microwave/fridge  , although these methods  do give an 'aged' effect to the drink and help to smooth it out anyone that drinks decent stuff on a regular basis can easily tell the difference.

I don't drink anymore, but you can make very powerful bourbon very quickly now, and "age" it incredibly quickly. Someone in my area got a patent for it. It looks like a tiny rotating nuclear silo with graphite rods

They were gonna help others I know before their patent got approved and they started making seven figures. Basically they can make Knob creek quality and strength incredibly fast

Also they could probably "age" scotch a ton. I'll bet they will make synthetic enzymes to create extra flavor and speed up the process

tbh i'm struggling to think of a reason why you would want or need to replace CO2 in beverages that naturally produce it as part of the fermenting process.

alot of the questions you are asking seem to be trying to reinvent the wheel.

I hope everyone's tests and experiments are going good, and that people are sharing knowledge rather than allowing others to repeat stuff that does not work. On another note, today I wanted to introduce a sort of sub-topic that could be beneficial to learn about. Skin. That's right --- SKIN.

We've all seen images of people who drink often with exaggerated, wrinkled, dried skin. We can say, "Well, they should have drank less alcohol and more water and gatorade," but that's not the point of this post. What if you could find a way to minimize the risk of skin problems by adding coated ceramides, biotin, callogen, Vitamin E, Vitamin D, Calcitriol, and other items to help off-set the alcohol? Think in terms of units. If one whiskey shot causes 1 micron of a new wrinkle, can we use extremely small "units" of counter measures to fix this?

Hello Everyone! Today --- I'd like to talk about pH levelling your new liquor brand and/or beer brand. Many of you have probably met a consistent drinker who keeps anti-acid pills around. This crowd might also deal with stomach pains and ulcers, but not always. Have you tried adjusting the pH of your beverage to prevent the need for antacids? Have you considered labelling your bottle with its respective pH level? Is your pH level consistent?

To prevent someone drinking 12 beers and getting intestinal bloat, could you deveop a single-bottle-beer-brand beer that is sold as a one-off at the same price as 12 beers but possesses a time-release feature?

Next generation liquor is probably going to be a herbal bitter like Jägermeister, but with cannabis as a primary herbal ingredient.

I was able to look into this further and actually discovered some interesting international drinks.

Hemp Beer
Cannabis THC-Infused Beer (Alcohol: Less than 0.5% | THC: 10mg)
Cannabis CBD-Infused Beer
Cannabis Beer, which is brewed using stocks and roots from the marijuana plant in place of barley.
100% Non-Alcoholic THC Beer

Like what just name anything and I'll explain how we've either made it out of hemp,added weed to it or used it as paraphernalia. Like before covid ruined everything that summer was all about those thc/cbd infused hard seltzer and cannabis terpine infused beverages :sadyes:
