The turbidity on these LC's dosnt seem great. ANd for how old they are they arent as thick as I would like.
Is it worth it to try them out anyway? Would you use these?
I plan to knock 100 jars with 2500ml . They all pretty much look like this.
1.5 - 2 g MEA per 500ml water. They are a month old. Made from agar plates.
Feed back is greatly appreciated.

Never use sketchy innoculant in bulk... worst case you have 100 jars worth of mold to toss...
I probably wouldn't even try that on one jar let alone 100

true, i agree.
I think the worst case would actually be if I had to toss out16 contammed tubs.
It might still give a flush, but your right its prob not worth risking.
Thanks for you insight.

You can always test it

I also have some Lc that look like these. SO i think ill use these instead, my concern with testing those murky ones is that, they might colonise the grain fine, then show the contams when they hit tubs.
mold myc looks same as cube myc sometimes and colonises at same rate, then when you go to fruit BAM your fucked. idk. this is my thoughts about it.
Ill test the murky ones but use these better looking ones for now,
These clean ones were made from the same cultures just did an extra transfer to make sure they were cleaner.

Test the LC on agar to see if it's clean not on grains.

I guess i can try that.
Will a mold mycelium not hide out in the cube mycelium tho? Deceiving me because it grows at the same speed at cube myc, looks the same and all?

You could leave it for a while and see if any mold sporulates or change color in the agar, even if they grow at similar rates they hardly look the same. Bacteria/yeast will also be pretty easy to spot.

Yes some species of mold can mesh in and hide. Important to watch the growth pattern as it recovers.

These nasty LC's made it to grain in my testing. Just spawned a shoe box with clean looking grains. well see what happens.
