Silly question about music, lighting and growing.

So things are going swell in my small slice of paradise. I have simplified to fix and forget shoe boxes, one light for the small room and a small humidifier. I decided to play around with putting one of my music devices on low volume playing music 24/7. Oddly enough I woke up this morning to see excellent growth across a number of my boxes. I am trying to figure out how do you test something like that? I reset everything before I go to bed and harvest in the morning its been "fruitful" to say the least. I know many people have played music for their plants and fungus. Its established with plants and I wonder if the same applies to fungus. They listen to the frequency.

A true experiment would have all other variables controlled for which isn't really possible outside of a lab environment. If you wanted to gather some anecdotes you could simply place half your grows in one room and half in the other, where one room has music playing and the other does not.
I definitely don't think that music has any effect at all on any fungi. Would be good to know if it did though.

A clone/ isolate with known attributes is a must.Multis spore has too many variables. You need a control tub with normal life like conditions. You can then do 10 tubs with music 10 in silence(better would be 100/1000) Compare.
I would not be surprised if rhythm/pitch correspond to natural circadian rhythms maybe a 12 on 12 off option...
You can try Petri dishes on speakers.

Plants listen to frequency. I guess certain genres of music fall into a frequency pattern. Indeed to do a controlled experiment would be very tough The hypothesis is easy Null Fungus is effected by music Alternative Fungus is not effected by music. I have 6 different strains going but not sure how to isolate them for a test. I was thinking petri dishes sealed in a clean container. I switched to a low light scheme recently also. I was running 3 now just one. They do just fine in less light. If anything they are growing longer trying to reach towards the light source. I am sure in the decades of crazy innovation many people have tried this. In fact I bet there are a few around that are like "Zepplin man!" NO man "The Dead!" Jerry talks to them from the afterlife when he hears his song. Its like mushroom version plausible. 20 tubs would be nice! That would be like herding cats though. I run under that and its a good 30 minutes of effort every day.

I think that if you're looking to grow more/bigger mushrooms, there are many tried-and-tested methods to learn that would be worth your while more than trying to "scientifically" check if music has any effect whatsoever.
TBH it sounds like a waste of time unless you're mostly trying to satiate your curiosity (which is a perfectly acceptable reason).

Mushroom output is fine. More than I know what to do with. Now its about different strains and learning conditions. I have seen this done with plants and had wondered if it effected fungus as well. I do not think they make them bigger I think they would make them grow faster. I tend to enjoy the process and a little music in my room was just easy listening for all organic life. If would be an impossible feat to do it in completely controlled manner because of all the variations. The poster above actually actually had a good idea about smaller chambers. I think 6 jars with small clusters and sterile sub would be workable. If anyone is interested I would be more than happy to do a cross information exchange on effects using a simple system. 6 mason jars.

You may be happy with your results, but I would urge you to strive for better. Work on getting canopies. Definitely play music if even only just for your benefit, but focus on developing your cultivation skills and you'll see where I'm coming from.
