Thanks for the info. I was never interested in them as nourishment, but there's (a still) small chance I'll consume a very small amount.

Thanks for the link. I had actually started reading the paper that this paper critiques just a couple days ago, so it's good to come across this follow-up

Ok, so my 4 healthy-sized a. persicina are almost dry. I've really learned lots from the amanita dreamer youtube channel and associated forum (amanita research), but some of her directions are clear as mud, and I am still confused about one very basic thing, which is the approximate or average volume-to-weight correspondence for dried amanitas. Her preparation method involves boiling 15g of dried caps in 1 cup of water (for multiple microdoses, not one dose!). Well I don't have a scale and would like to just estimate how many cups 15g of dried and chopped amanitas would fill, so that I can then see about how much I have. Since I am only microdosing (and after boiling and adding citric acid to convert the majority of ibotenic acid to muscimol), I'm not worried that it isn't exact. I just need a general idea of volume-to-weight. Anyone?

Getting this wrong could have serious consequences.
Thanks to globalization and the Chinese industrial juggernaut scales are super-cheap, even with delivery to your door.
Dude, just get a scale!

At the range I'll be trying, it's not gonna matter. Just need a general idea of volume to weight. Psilo are great. Picked blue meanies out of a cowfield in Crestview.

If it's not going to matter, you don't need to ask.
I'm still going to be 100% clear: GET A SCALE! I'm not saying that it's foolproof, I'm saying you're courting danger without using one of the cheapest, most reliable tools around to reduce risks.

Alright alright, II'll get a scale. But juat to give an idea, we're talking about a starting dose of 1/8-1/4 teaspoon of the tea from boiling 15g in 1 cup water. I'm sure I have less than 15g.
