Pony Tail and Sago Palm cold tolerance

So, I have a massive Pony Tail Palm, and a pretty big Sago, I know neither are true palms, so no need to correct me But, I'm wondering how low can each of these plants tolerate before they die?
I acquired both of them when they were little babies six years ago.
The pony tail palm was a tiny discount bonsai plant at Walmart, and the Sago I dug up in the wild as a freshly germinated seedling.
Whoever said that both are extremely slow growing is lying, because mine are huge, especially the Pony tail, it's taller than me.
Both are just too big for my house, and they need some sunlight. I had them both out until about two weeks ago, until it got in the 20's at night.
Would these temps be too cold at night? I do have a small greenhouse too that I might be able to squeeze them in on the really cold night too.
Any advice would be greatly apprecited

They can withstand USDA zone 9's version of a hard freeze, with some yellowing at the tips.
My first area of concern, especially with the pony tail palm, is going to be adequate drainage of the planters.

Yeah I mean I lived in zone 9 Florida, and we occasionally got hard freezes and I even saw temps in the teens a few times, but it never lasted long, and it always got back warm during the day. So all the palms citrus, and other sub tropical plants always survive or recover down there. This isn't the case up here though, sadly.
I have them both out now,and they are staying. I just can't have plants that big in my house with all the other plants that are already in here. every square inch of this house has plants in it. This is why I hate living here being a plant fanatic. Having to lug everything in for half the year and trying to maintain them all is for the damn birds!

Ok, so the Sago will get covered if the night time temps dip blow 30 degrees, but that still leaves the Pony Tail.
Thanks man, I have babied my Pony Tail since it was a wee little fella

Id worry more about the ponytail palm then the sago. Sago palms are hardy to about 15 degrees.

How big is your sago? I have 2 small sago trees growing currently indoors and curious how fast they grow as well. I live in a zone 2 so moving it outside isn't really an option

Yeah, I mean I've done more research on it, but I never can get a definitive answer. All the info on them varies greatly depending on the source.
I would assume that 15 degrees would be plants in the ground, right?
I will say that my neighbor left his out all last winter, and it died back to the caudex. He thought it was dead and then I was like wait, here comes a new frond don't toss it! We also had a zone 8 winter last season though too, and the lowest it got was about 20 degrees.

My Sago is big brother. It had way more fronds, but my dumb butt trimmed half of them off, because I brought it indoors because they were sticking out and making it hard to walk in the plant room. Now I regret it, because it's back outside now.
I also have a small baby sago that I grew from seed years back, but that one stays in my room.

I live in MS and we planted some small sago palms late in the year one year and the winter got them, one tried to come back but someone hit it with the weed eater. We tried again the next summer and they all survived and are doing well. Down on gulf coast they are everywhere and thrive. But yeah I’m guessing need to be planted in the ground and have sufficient time to establish their roots to make it through hard freeze temps.

What grow zone are you, 8? I actually got mine from the wild when I lived on the gulf, and I've had them ever since. It got in the teens on the 25th and 26th here so they both came inside. Oh it was hell lifting those huge heavy pots!

I'm in zone 8. We actually just bought a new house and have to start all over with our palms. We planted one probably a little late this year, so I'm wondering if its going to make it. It has a lot of browning so far.
