slow colonization help

PE syringe to grain on 11/17, so 4 weeks ago.
I had a feeling this round was going to be a little funny, as much as I shook the syringe, and I shook the hell out of it, there was a big spore blob that would not break up, and that whole blob made its way into one of the 8 jars I inoculated. the two pics are jars that seem to be doing ok, and all the others have myc growth about the size of a dime, and in only one spot.
the jars are in the same conditions as all the other jars I've started, which have had no problems at all.
so I guess what I'm looking for is, is there a real time limit on how long colonization can take before problems arise? im assuming these things might dry out before they can fully take over at this rate. or has anyone seen times like this w PE syringe to grain?
thanks y'all

>> No within reason. Germination can take time, it's weird like that, I guess that's whats taking the time. A shake and seeing the recovery will tell you more than how long the germ took. I would shake those now.

Is it gonna dry out?

>> It seems to be fine, it's possible, but you'd have to be pretty far off in your grain prep and lid making. I think you're good.

On the syringe, wouldn't stress about a spore clump, you only need a very small amount.

But if you're in a hurry, and really got to go
If you're in a hurry, might have to find out slow
That it's one thing to try and another to fly
You get there quicker just a step at a time
It's one thing to bark, another to bite
The show ain't over till you pack up at night
