Under woods ID
    #27077668 - 12/07/20 07:29 PM (3 years, 2 months ago)

This is a completely white mushroom that is tall and slender growing from under the tree soil.  Do you know what kind of species this is?
Is this Oudemansiella radicata?

Yes, Oudemansiella sect. Radicatae is likely.
You could try to pull the stem out of the substrate, it should
have a rather long extending "tap root".

Definitely something in that direction, good assessment OP.
Is this US find ? As far as I know radicata is not found in the US.

I'm gonna say for now hymenopellis sp. If more info is provided maybe we could determine exact species.

This is a US species.  Might not have time to look until tomorrow

Use this key for North American oudemansiella/xerula/hymenopellis identification:
https://www.mushroomexpert.com/xeruloid.html

As you can see, Oudemansiella (Hymenopellis) Radicata is not listed. It is European species. Your fungi is one of those listed.

They seem to have that unique texture on top of the cap and they have a very cream to coffee like color variation.  Seems like the ones at mushroom expert grew very well and matured nicely

Oudemansiella is the preferred name nowadays, if I'm not entirely wrong, but not long
ago it was Hymenopellis, but I see people also use Xerula,

Ok,I sometimes find those and I still call them Xerula.

All this is so confusing!

I’m not sure but Hymenopellis looks like one of the neighboring mushrooms I have seen in the area

Here is another species under the same woods
There is a multi tonal cap with lavender gills and a light purple stem

Tight-knit gills with a slightly oval cap the cap fits around the gills like a margin or a buffer seemingly attached if that is the question about attached gills to the cap and stipe?
Found about 5 within a few feet
Looks like Lepista nuda blewits but haven’t found them here or in a while

Here is more I just found:
One has a ring on the cap

All are lepista. I think lepista nuda, only last one could maybe be lepista sordida.
But i guess probbably they re all same sp, one of the these two i mentioned.

There are only 3 species left in Oudemansiella after the last revision, if I remember correctly. Xerula also was revised and the Genus Hymenopellis was created to include species from Oudemansiella, Xerula and maybe other collybiod species.
