Even if you hadn't opened the mono spores would be getting in if they were floating around in the air (AKA are getting in because they are in the air). Even so, your tub will be fine if it doesn't already have contams growing in it.

If i'm not mistaken, you're gonna get crazy side/bottom pinning in there though since you didn't put in a black liner, but this looks fantastic dude. I havent moved to bulk yet but i've been looking at a LOT of grows on here and yours looks great for an experienced grower, let alone a noob like you or me

Your opinion is wrong (in my opinion). If he gets crazy bottom and side pinning it will be a result of improper surface conditions couple with genetic preference. Liners can absolutely make it easier to avoid side pins though.
Looking pretty sexy, OP. Can you see much primordia in the middle? May have just gotten a smidge thicker top layer and be a tad behind. That'll happen sometimes.

I will definitely try some grows with liners so I can compare, but I really wanted to be able to see everything going on this first attempt at bulk. There do seem to be a small amount of side pins forming that perhaps a liner could have prevented

Mostly just knots in the middle at this point, some primordia though. I think you're right that I made the top layer too thick in the middle, I also think I just made it a little too thick in general

Those are squished stems, I was trying to show some of the side pins I'm getting. I realize that isn't very clear in the picture

Oh ok thats what I thought at first!
Yeah, a liner should help a lot with those next time

I probably will go with a liner next time, and make sure I do a thinner, more even top layer. Everything seems good other than those side pins and the uneven pinset. Are some of these looking ready to harvest?

Yes, all the ones with the veils torn can be taken. It depends on how much you care about bag appeal. If you don't care then you can let them go longer. They'll drop spores all over if you let them go much longer, though.
Evenness in a top layer is very important, if you want the entire surface to pin at the same time.
