So as far as sealing it up during colonization for future grows, basically my lid comes with this removable weatherseal gasket thing, if I leave it in and latch on the lid it's totally airtight, and if I take it out it leaves a kinda large gap (a little bigger than the gap between the tub and lid on a standard tub) to the point where I'm worried taking the seal out would dry out the substrate too much. Do you think leaving it in but not latching the lid down would work for colonization? With tape over all the vent holes

Or would just throwing the whole thing in a bag be better?

These were taken about 15 hrs after that last one

I've never had the myc grow all spiky like that before, that's aerial mycelium right?

Yes, it's Mycelium. Looking good!

Looks good. Nothing bad to report. Can't comment on FAE from those pics though. I'd just let her keep chugging along and report back upon full colonization.

Knots indeed. It's looking a tad dry in there. At this point in colonization you should see little water sparkles all over the surface. How's the airflow around the FAE holes lookin?

I've been misting daily most days, I did go a couple days without because I was worried I was overdoing it. Just gave it another good misting after taking that pic

FAE is looking good from what I can tell, got lines running down from the top holes. I'll snap a pic when I get home tonight

This was about 24 hours before that pic of the knots from last night

Is that a good amount of droplets?

If it's drying out that fast you've got more FAE than the standard mono. That's fine. They actually love it, so long as you don't wait too long between misting sessions.

The pic looks good. I don't know how people get such rhizo growth out of their surfaces. I have never seen that in one of my grows.

These are from last night

Made a bit of a concerning discovery this morning, my dumbass left a bunch of BRF jars that never germinated in the corner of the room, I totally forgot about them and just found them all full of mold. My tub itself is shut in the closet but I've been opening it to mist and take pics in the room, so I'm a little worried about having introduced contams :frown:

Your monotub will be fine, you didn't open the jars.
Your tub is also colonized well so protected
