No pins, after 2 weeks in fruiting

This is my mini shoebox I've had in fruiting for 2 weeks and still no pins, Was wondering if some on could help me figure this out?
I used 50/50 coir/verm mixed with fully colonized Brown rice as spawn. Let the substrate colonize for 2 weeks Put in fruiting by misting and fanning as needed And it just gets whiter and more dense myco on it but still no pins. Any help is appreciate. Thnxx

So these pics are kinda bad, but from what I think I can see and what you said in you're post that's probably all contam. Tell me about how you prepped your coir/verm mix, vermiculite is often treated with molds and whatnot so if it isnt properly sterilized it contams, at least in my experience.
For the future just use properly hydrated coir, i've never had any problems with my mini-boxes with just coir and spawn.

Mate, I was there. Just bad strain. And maybe too much moisture in the substrate. Move on. Can't be saved.
Forget what people say about dripping anything for field capacity. I put it in a cloth bag and squeeze until nothing comes out. Then I don't spray nor fan. Worked.

I took a pan of water and brought it to a rolling boil then soaked the coir/verm in it, then squeezed it to "field capacity", layed it let it cool, then mixed in my spawn.
So coir works by its self? If so that works out, cause I got 2 bricks and no more verm I just thought the verm was required.
I guess if its hopeless I'll chunk it and try again with coir only, it just sucks cause it's so snowy white lol
A bad strain? Can you elaborate, because I ordered a bunch of Multi spores (like 10 different strains) off reddit, and out of 4 grows I only got 1 to fruit, so I'm wandering if I got screwed lol
Anyways thnx guys, for the input.

"Field capacity" is... well, not easy thing to grasp. Look at my experiment here: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27071508
Who can tell what is the optimal condition? Every variety (Golden Teacher, B+, Albino A+, etc) I believe will have different requirements. In fact different strains within the same variety (if you clone a single mushroom, that is one strain. That's the easiest way to explain how to get one strain). When you see all those perfect monotubs photos with mushrooms growing uniformly to the brim, those are all single strain clones. That's why senescence is an issue there.
For 8 months I have failed spectacularly, trying different conditions and then when I started squeezing the shit out of my coir, pins just appeared even before full colonization. I believe given too much moisture, the mycelium don't see the need to fruit. In fact I think I was drowning my myc. But when there are just enough moisture, they could breath and know that if they don't fruit, they might dry out soon. The only way to continue the life cycle is to fruit and make spores that will grow again in the right conditions. Making sense?

I tried without verm. Works fine.
Strains are genetic make-up. Some men can grow hair, some not so much. You might have bought strains that don't fruit so well. It's biological thing, pure luck.

Your post was very helpful in my case, because all 10 of my Ms syringes have been mixed up unlabeled all I know is there's 8 cube varieties and 2 pans, so this should be fun trying to sort out lol. So with my 2 bricks of coir and a ton of colonized brown rice jars I did I'm just gonna keep trying till I get somthing I can print. Next one I'm gonna go without misting or fanning, it makes since when you said that with due to not misting the mycelium mabey pins in response to the substrate drying out. Anyway I'm gonna just chunk that one I've got others going anyway lol

Your brown rice comes with husk intact?
My experience with brown rice wasn't a pleasant one. Mine come without husk. I left a jar of sealed brown rice (pc for 90mins, no inoculation) for 2-3 days and things started growing inside.
Try rye berries (no husk) or whole oat (with husk) if you can find them. Very reliable.

Check out my noob notes in my sig, I wrote it up last night so it still needs some work but will probably answer a lot of questions. It's broken up by section.
Can't tell if it's all contaminated but it's definitely over-tended.
Brown rice is a usable grain but not very noob friendly. If you can't find oats or rye berries, WBS is cheap at walmart.

I've been wanting to try rye berries, I just been using brown rice because my PC has a leak and doesn't hold pressure so till I get a new one I figured brown rice was the way to go as far as grains. But mine is with out the husk.
