Identification in Pacific Northwest lower mainland * 1
    #27075664 - 12/06/20 04:41 PM (3 years, 1 month ago)

Hello everyone

I was walking along a hedge in a park and noticed these brown mushrooms. They stood out to me with a pronounced nipple.

The hedge is a Laurel tree. With heavy naturally decomposing mulch underneath.

The shrooms grow as individual or clumps

The caps have a slight sheen to them

Some of them are so dark they almost look purple

Under a 120x scope I usually use for trichomes, the stems were mainly golden/brown colour with very purple areas I think from bruising

The spore print is a brownish/but colour
Under the scope the spores themselves looked golden like trichomes with a very light hue of purple every so often in between

Most of the stems are about 1.5-2 mil near the top enlarging to around 4 almost 5 mil at the base with heavy mycelium root like structure. Largest caps are about 1.5-2" wide but most are the size of a dime or quarter

I was thinking stuntzii at first but there are no signs of veils

Agree on Entoloma, subgenus Nolanea is likely.
