I put mine ON the perlite for THREE days after birthing and then switched them onto little plexiglass stands. They all pinned within 4-6 days. But that's just my cakes. If yours don't pin, try putting them onto the perlite layer until they pin and then put them on something else or you might get waterlogged fat arses.
