I'm I the only one that would rather have covid over getting tested?
I can't get over the fact that they shove a qtip right up those nose 6-8"..
Might as well shove a broom handle up there. Fuck that noise.
Yucky...
Has anyone here been tested?

Yes, it's really not that bad.
I find it a little ridiculous that you would rather catch something that could potentially fuck your life up REAL bad that to go through a brief moment of discomfort.
Do you have tattoo's?

I do have tattoos, but there's no way you can compare the 2? The inside of my nose is not tatted.
Qtip swirl? The video I saw was of a girl getting a long qtip rammed up there.

Tattoo's are uncomfortable. Getting a COVID test is uncomfortable.
One deals with discomfort for the greater good in this life, from time to time.
To shy away from discomfort is to be a coward, IMO.

Depends on the test, some just swirl the nostril, others get up in there and polish the bottom of your brain case. Either way, better than getting a disease that shows a propensity for leaving behind long term damage in even mild cases and in severe can kill outright.

I'd like to expand that to life is uncomfortable, if you're afraid of a little discomfort, you will probably not be very successful at it.

I've gotten the test done 3 times, on a scale from 1-10 it scores a solid don't be such a pussy.
Seriously, it's makes your eyes water and you have an urge to sneeze. On my discomfort scale from 0-10 it's like a 0.2

I bled out my right nostril for like 2 hours and could feel it dripping down my throat too... on a 1-10 scale it was more 0.25

Are you prone to nosebleeds? Super dry air or something? Hemophiliac? Because it should NOT have done that.

I think my nasal passage was slightly swollen, so they had to be a little forceful. I took that test cause I was symptomatic, it turned out to be a cold. But you know how when you're sick your nose does that thing where you can breath fine from one nostril, and other is totally blocked... that was right nostril.
Side note, you're nasal passages doing that is intentional in the body, to allow you to breath, but also to activate all the shit that gets mobilized due to swelling. It switches back and forth between nostrils.

Lmao
I do covid testing part time and some people are such babies about it. It is mildly painful for a short amount of time. I get it done constantly. I would rather have to get tested every day for the rest of my life than get a serious case of covid even once tbh

Too true. Yeah my friends are both in health care, and one works in a critical care dept. so yeah he pretty much gets daily tests. His wife is Obstetrician, actually head of her dept at pretigious hospital/university so I don't think she gets tested as much, but she caught the covid. She was the reason for my second test.

I’ve performed COVID tests maybe 20 times now. First off, the test is known to have a lot of false negatives. I don’t know if that’s because of the test itself or the sampling technique used. Because of that, I treat it more like a brain biopsy than a nasopharyngeal swab to make good and damn sure I get the best sample possible. Some people handle it better than others. I haven’t been tested yet, but I expect I’ll eventually get COVID and it will probably just suck for a while and then I’ll recover.

You've clearly never had Covid. I had it and it fucking sucked. My wife and son had it and we know people that have died from it and left behind families and kids.
What a stupid fucking question, good luck in life Humpty

My covid was so mild that I can't decide whether I'd rather have that case again or go through getting tested. Both were easy to handle. I think less than a dozen people out of almost 60,000,000 cases have recontracted it. So I won't be testing anymore anyway

The test was the most comfortable thing about covid for me. The worst is not knowing how you will react, or how your family will react to it. The thought of potentially bringing something home that may seriously affect their health isn’t fun. We lucked out and recovered pretty easily, buy it could have been far worse than the “standard cold” level that we went through. The test itself was basically nothing in comparison

You're pretty lucky. I spent 4 days contorting around in pain like I was possessed, sweating so much that I'd wake up freezing 2-3x a night, and having such crazy fever dreams that I felt like I was losing my grip on reality

Damn, that sounds like shit. Not to take you too literally but it sounds more like you were unlucky rather than me being lucky though. I think cases like mine are more common than yours.

I say to-MAY-toe, you say to-mah-toe...yeah it sucked but hopefully I've got some decent immunity for while. You're probably right about your case being more typical though
