A way to test PC temp, and a question on times and psi.

Hello. I have bought a 50l pressure cooker. The makers couldn't tell me the pressure, so I decided to try to test it my self. I bought a digital thermometer with a probe:
Surprisingly it worked, I just put a bit of foil around the wire where the it entered the pot and the pot sealed perfectly without breaking the wire:

The maximum temperature reached was 111°C (231°F) which is a psi of 7.
Can anyone give me ideas on the sterilizing times for the following substrate at a psi of 7?
One day I plan to sterelize 10x WBS jars that are 500ml Another day I plan to sterelize 7x 1l tubs with 70/30 Coco fibers/ vermiculite.
Cheers

In theory the outside of the pressure cooker should be almost as hot as the inside so you can just measure the temperature on the outside, which is how I do it and it’s pretty much the same what the gauge is showing. I don’t know if 7psi will give you 100% success, but I used to have a PC which could barely get up to 6psi and it still worked out. I would just double the cooking time

Its much easier to just test PC a small jar with grain or agar and the usual times and then leave it unopened for some weeks and see if it contams.

there was a chart around here showing the time increase with lower psi
maybe someone will chime in with it

Thats a big PC man! I toughed i'd got myself a big one since a day or 2. Its 30Liters PC and also missing this PSI/temperature specification. 7PSI sounds little and needs extra PC time to compensate. Now I worry to test out my new PC temp.
I have a cheap analog (high) temperature meter, will this work (reliably)?

Thanks for the advice, I think I'll start with 2.5 hours, inoculate with some Oysters and test by contamination rate.
I'll do a test of the temperature outside of the pot to see what kind of difference shows compared to the inside.

I managed to test with this one: https://www.manomano.es/termometros-1235?model_id=14319484&g=1
It has metal around the cable, which I wrapped with foil and trapped between the rubber seal on the lid. The cooker closed fully, and I managed to get the temp on full with the probe inside.

Great suggestion, definitely will try (and have to order)! No worries about the wire going in the PC, screwing up the pressure?

I had no loss of pressure, and no air or water coming out from where the wire went in. I think the bit of tin foil helped to even out the seal, and it also stopped the wire from getting damaged. I definitely got to max temp too, as both rockers were on the move, and temps had stalled.
