Adding nutrients to weak ps cyan patch?
    #27070655 - 12/03/20 07:47 PM (3 years, 1 month ago)

Hey guys,

I found a small patch of cyans or allenii (currently waiting on ID request). I was attracted to it initially because I could tell walking by that it was a great location for mushroom growth. Old wood chips, good cover, and surrounded by sprinklers that kept it wet when I went there at 1:00 pm today, even though it hasn’t rained for weeks.

Around my patch I saw a few small pins and some old dried out fruits, but extremely small in diameter.

It seems a shame that it’s such a great place for mushroom growth but so few fruits (although lots of mycelium). I’m wondering if anyone knows if if adding nutrients or something could allow it to explode in fruits. As I said, it seems like a perfect location.

Any advice?

Might be better asked in the woodlovers thread or do a search on outdoor woodlover bed. Just adding soaked wood chips will not make it explode in fruits, but next year you may get a better flush if you do. Keep monitoring the patch you may get some more.

There’s not really anything you can do for this season but adding fresh chips can definitely provide it some vigor for next year

However, this season has barely even started. Maybe it will throw out some monster flushes once the rains (finally!) come
