Those are some spaghetti Bois indeed. If you orient your light source directly overhead you should be able to get them to stand up straight. I'd assume your light source is from one or both sides of the bag?

They are in a shady part window above, but no direct light. Apart from that there was a grow light for cacti so that causes the distorted grow pattern.. I also rotates the bags.. I knew these things were light sensitive but didn't care.. untill now.

But... checked on the bags today.. and another one seems to have pinned, only realized the messed up growth today, poor fruits had no idea in which direction to grow.. placed all bags in the light, hopefully that will help.. also a much fatter stem compared to the spaghetti.. (this one is on straw/brf)

Very happy to see this fat boy, already placed some more spores to agar, just in case

Yes. I find this species really light sensitive/phototropic as well. I have also observed that a more nutritious substrate results in larger fruits. I've never ran them on straw and/or brf but when I ran them on a mix of coir, peat and sheep manure they were about twice as big as when I ran them on coir. Here is my unmodified tub currently. Also pictured here is another tub that was spawned and fruited at the same time that is much further behind. It is on the bottom of my tub stack and gets less light than all the rest. The caps also have much less pigment in them. I think you could get some great results with an abundance of light and a more nutritious substrate.

Wow, Yoshi Amano sent out a sample of the subtrops he recently grew to Tryp Labs for analysis...
2.75% total alkaloids-
2.30 psilocybin
0.36 baeocystin
0.09 norbaeocystin
Slightly more being in the caps than stipes. Yoshi says on his site the lineage is from Captain Future.

I know numbers aren't everything, but that's pretty impressive. Just thought I'd share that here for those who don't do the social media thing.

It would be cool to see them tested for beta carbolines too to see what shows up there, but it seems like testing methods for mushroom alkaloids isn't looking at that yet.

Trich seems to have invested my shoebox. Frankly only the casing was covered.. underneath nothing. Decided to cut away the affected area.. remove all the casing.. dunking for 20min and will recase with ripened casing, who knows maybe I get lucky.

Interesting, that's actually less than Pans. I guess it heavily depends on the conditions and culture tho.

I harvested a bag last night, not the prettiest but I'm still thankful. This was on CV and cased but still dried out a lot. I have another bag that I'll harvest tomorrow night, I think it is straw/compost/Wpoo, cased also.

These cool twisty guys have some great colors too.

Yeah Yoshi! I like those twisted guys  Quick question, are you using the same sub as for cubes? Or more like pan-wise sub? Just asking got some semps germinating now on Agar

Thank you Shrimps. The quick answer to your question is, yes.

This bag was just CV. I believe the Fresh Prints does his amazing grows on just C? The other bag is on the same sub I'd use for Pans, straw/compost/Wpoo. They will also eat a good % sawdust too.

Sorry, no, the sawdust comment was meant for Subtropicalis. You probably could add it to Pans though.

Looks good yoshi! I do wonder, if I look at the genetics TCO and captain had around 2008 those resembled wild specimens more.. e.g. just observing  some of the subtropicalis features in this video makes me wonder what makes the difference.. more reddish stipes.. totally different caps.. I recall mycorry showed the cap flattens after multiple flushes but I haven't seen anyone reproduce this recently. Curious to see more growths from wild prints, maybe we'll see more natural looking fruits

That is a cool video 0tOlerance! There definitely could be differences, I think TCO mentioned SW spread a particular clone around? I do have subtropicalis and I have "semperviva" which is much slower to fruit. I also believe that lighting and possibly humidity make a difference too. The specimens in the video are growing in what looks like full sun. When I run my clone in SB under lighting, they look like this:

The bags I'm running now are just sitting on a shelf near the window.

Another guess is that the mushrooms are hygrophanous. This bag, the sub had dried a lot and the caps of the mature mushrooms looked almost tan in some cases. Normally they'd ne darker.
