I have seen that in every semp jar that ages long enough for that to happen.

I was thinking about letting subtropicalis grainjars consolidate for 2 weeks, does this sound ok? Or, would anyone suggest extending this period to 3 weeks minimum?

IMHO, I feed a hungry mycelium colony while it is still expanding and looking for food. With pretty much all Sp., once the grain is colonized, I transfer. Either G2G or spawn to bulk, I imagine it as a running start on it's new food source. Once it is in a bag or shoebox where it'll (hopefully) fruit, I'll let it consolidate. My 2 bits.

Do you mean the fruits won't get old and die eventually, standing for several months?

I imagine leaving them for, say, two months, but wouldn't they inevitably abort with time?

@ Adas They pretty much look after themselves, even with the holes.  I think I’ve missed that tub like 3 times in over a month. Big advocate of the EZ Dials.

@ Zigzagzin No casing just a top layer at spawn about 1/2” or so thick. Exactly the same as I run cubes.

I was thinking about the AZ dial, got myself a 120l tub as the one I currently made into an EZ dial, doesn't close well at the lid.. the lid consists of 2 parts that can open/close separately. Nice that it worked out for you. Thinking about adding salted perlite and bubbler with hydrogen peroxide (noticed that in one of Yoshi's growths, made a note about it). As I preferably would like to see if this could keep the moisture in without manual misting. I also recall someone who taped the holes with 1 layer of MP.. not sure who it was.. to keep the moisture in/less FEA

Your fruits however, don't look short to me.. so I think they already getting low FEA as is.

I used to use a layer of MP. I just have actually for my Pans while colonising. As for not being short and fat I just don’t think Semps ever grow like that. I’ve not seen any anyways, they have a more tamp looking Pheno then Cubes I’d say.

I'm happy with 2-2.5 weeks, any longer and they're too strong and its tough to dose properly.

According to my friend who I've been giving pan cyans to for over a year, Subtropicalis blew Pan Cyans out of the water in terms of potency. 2g gave him the strongest trip he has ever had in his life and he has been tripping regularly for almost 20 years. He would guess Subtropicalis is 50-100% stronger than Pan Cyans.

Fuckin Christ bro! That's.. amazing, yet absolutely terrifying to hear!

Does anyone know how well they keep? Do they lose potency fast like Pans or do they stay good even if stored improperly like Tamps? Not that I store mushrooms improperly anymore.. Just wondering

Intriguing. If it's the same for everyone, now we're to find the peak strenght to age ratio. I guess it's not worthy keeping it for more than two* months since pinning, if even so much.

*edit - typo

the slower in fruiting stage might be the only way to enjoy them fully fresh, if these are highest in psilocin, they might be a average mushroom dried.

That is crazy, can't we agree to let them consolidate for 2 weeks.. and no longer.. pick when they start to sporulate/peach colored stipe, to have some consensus about the potency? If you need a stronger trip you just add a mushroom more right.

Would be nuts if they equal or go beyond pan cyan strength...
