The pseudoA bag? Healthy AFAIK, maybe just the Pic? The "Semp" bag is looking rough but is 14 months old.

Hi guy, ello everyone, hereβs SubT. on grain 3rd transfer.
Stuff grows fast on grain, I have an older print it takes several months to fruit. Itβs really impressive people have actually domesticated it to grow quicker, be proud!
Iβm hoping to get a clone off small batches to make mine faster. How long will it take me to domesticate this species if it takes 3-4 months to fruit?
SubT. In the bigger jar an the ps. allenii in the smaller one.

The jars are only 9 days old... thanks for the heads up I'll let it sit a while.. I was actually wondering about that.. the jars look good overall but extremely whispy.
Same here, but yeah appearances differ. I'm going to let them sit for just 2 weeks... Also heard a month, but I'm too impatient for that. (Jar was laying on its side because an agar wedge was stuck on the rim, the dark spots are from shaking.. these bruised, another jar did not)
------------------- Little experiment going on.. A = akadama V = vulcanic rock dust & Hwfp

I wonder what will happen.. same LC with 3 different additives. Base recipe is plain 50% brf cakes with 50% straw. Anyone wants to make a guess?
Edit: emptied all agar plates, I feel it's a waste to toss clean leftover agar, so I'll just make some spore grainspawn, why not, right? Maybe there were some genetics on the other side of the agar plate or am I the only one with these thoughts hahaha..? 8 jars going.. still need to test the LC's for comtams, I left them in the cabinate for quite some time now. Hope they are turn out clean, will test tomorrow. O yeah can't wait for them to consolidate

Ever considered adding actual clay? I've cased few unsuccessful tubs/jars with peat+clay, but those triched (I suppose due to poor sterilization of the latter casing mix). Ones I cased with the same coir that I S2B'd are fine and dandy (with the exception that they're not fruiting). I don't remember if I added clay to the coir though Anyway, I didn't see anyone mentioning such an additive; given that subtrops are supposed to grow on clayey soils, could it be a smart move?

I have, that is why I went for akadama. Apart from that I even ordered clean loamy soil (from a region here in NL, where this is in the ground as sediment), however it took a month before it was delivered, so I made one bag with hwfp instead of loamy soil. The cake/straw is what elpico had success with for zaps, so I figured subtropicalis should like it too.
Apart from that I checked inski's growths with P. papuana, P.aucklandia, even ordered pumice for that and tried to make that recipe with the loamy soil as I have no clue what kind of clay I could use, as he used 'local clay', ratio's also unknown.. looked everwhere on shroomery, but couldn't find it. We have marine clay in the soil here.
So yes I absolutely looking into it, as I'm trying stuff with semperviva to eventually try zapotecorum, thx for mentioning nevertheless I appreciate the suggestions! These jars I'll spawn to cvg and also do some coir/verm + additive instead of gypsum.

Made 4 syringes, thought I would use a petri to test all 4, just a drop in each corner.. ofcourse ended up squirting way to much in there..
So it's a pool of LC floating on a agar.. @#$&+*!
A well.. hope it stays clean.. was a lot of work making those syringes. But I hope I've succeeded.. tossing the LC's into the fridge, let's see if one of them turns green on me.

Took about 2 months to see this.

Oh wow those look absolutely stunning, what a beauty. Indeed totally different look.. although I did see growths from workman and TCO from 10+ years ago that did resemble this look, not sure which flush it was.. as mycorry showed tis look returns after x flushes. --------------- All of my LC's are clean, so I'll be injecting some bigger bags.. 2 of them contain pumice/loamy soil/peat and 50% brf cake.. hopefully resembles a bit Inski's recipe used for aucklandiae and papuana.. anyone tried to replicate his substrate? Tried to contact him about the ratio's but seems like he hasn't been active for a while

Friend of mine tried the subtropicalis I grew - He did 2g and he had a level 6 trip. I jokingly say level 6 because he has had a few level 5 trips and said this was much stronger. He couldn't see for about 2 hours and needed his wife to trip-sit him which is something he has literally never needed (he has been tripping 1x to 2x per month for close to 20 years). He is experienced enough that he needs to take 50-100% more than the average person to get the same intensity, so for him 2g is more like 1-1.5 for the rest of us. I can't report too much on the experience and compare it to the other things I've given him because when we talked he was still on the tail end of the trip but I could tell by his urgency and emotions that this was definitely the most intense trip he has ever had, but I don't mean that in a negative way. It was just very profound and strong and overwhelming at times. He and his wife had some relationship-changing conversation for several hours from the mid-point to the end of the trip.
I started giving him cubes initially, then moved to pan cyans for a while, then pan bispos last year, and now these Subs. Previously bispos were his hands-down favorite but now it is Subs. After hearing his report, I wish Subs were as easy and fast to grow as Bispos though - not to say bispos are fast and easy, but compared to subtropicalis they are. I still need to trip on both of these myself but life has had other plans and it's not yet been possible for me to block off a day to do it.
I'm growing sub clones now so will see if that makes things any easier, and I also went back to prints to see if I can get some better phenos.
