Finally got a semp culture I really like on agar. Fast, clean, and even. Iβll take maybe 6 transfers and send the rest to a tester quart of rye in a couple days. I canβt waitβ¦

Finally, after nearly two months, my semps are pinning. I can't recall how many attempts at this I've made but I'm just happy to finally see them. A few pages back, someone suggested letting the casing dry out a bit then re-hydrating it. I tried that since it had been so long and within 6 days pins started showing. Part of it too could be that during the rehydration, my tent was putting out just a bit too much fog and it flooded the surface while I was out of town for 4 days - not bad but like 1-2mm of water pooling. I could see pins under the water. I poured the water off, patched the casing, and a pretty dense looking pinset is now coming in.

So you are saying there's a chance...
I spawned this evil mf 60 days ago, and cased it just after this picture last week. I have lost count of the attempts. Fortunately, Melgo has hooked me up and I am starting over from fresh spores. I will prevail!@!Q!!
One thing that I am wondering about is temperature. I have seen several references lately to ideal temps near 70f. I have no problems with cubes and tamps with a normal room temperature of 78f. Could it be that these guys just won't fruit above 75ish? Is anyone successfully fruiting these at or above 24c?

Yeah mine been through all sorts of temps, usually it's 75+ in my place cause the gf likes it warm. The spent cakes I buried outdoors went from below 50 to 90+
Just buried some more fresh cakes last week. Hoping to get a couple of flushes before the cold comes.

I had mine fruiting at 18Β°C / 64.4Β°F (in the house) and also at 23Β°C / 73Β°F and plus in the fridge FC.

Thanks everyone. That seems to rule my room temp out as the problem. I guess I just selected a non-fruiting culture before those spores quit germinating on agar. Fortunately I have some new spores to work with, thanks to your generosity.
I also haven't given up hope on the 4 in fruiting conditions now. When I say countless attempts, I am just being whiny. I keep solid records and have made 9 fruiting attempts before the current 4. Some Fahtlocs, tubs and jars. I just started my first PF Pucks as well. I never tired brf before. I am hoping it might help jump start those old spores.
Something is going to work. The more I fail, the more determined I get.

That was nice. I think i hit the sweet spot from the first try. Felt just a slight tingle and I was active and productive throughout the day.
microdosing: Reading this thread again.. and wondering about microdosing. Cubes don't make me active nor productive on a small dose / microdose at all.. 1cp-LSD did, so I'm wonder if Semperviva is more leaning towards LSD-ish microdose effect? I also read somewhere semperviva has mescaline-like vibe to it, it is said cacti also provide an energetic feeling (never tried mescaline before though). So wondering if there are more people who've microdosed these and can say a thing or 2 about it.
"great time" dosage: Also wondering about the best dose for a good time. All high doses turned out to be challenging, especially 2,5 pan cyans kind of bit me hard so I'm aiming for a smooth ride.. I would prefer to do a high dose right away, as it all sounds beautifull.. but I don't want to be on the rollercoaster to insanity for my next trip. Read 20gr fresh would be a bit on the high side?.. between 1 and 2gr dried is nice?.. Currently setting the target at 1,5gr - 15gr fresh. And I'm wondering if I should consume the fruits with a tea.. or toss them.. maybe the fruits themselves are important for the "full" semperviva trip signature?
...just gathering all the information I can find.

Hello, fellow shroomers. So I got my first tub colonized and looks like I'm in this game finally. Spawned to bulk wheat:coir 1:3 without pseudocasing, after it colonized quickly, I cased with peat+little amount of clay in it. Temps around 26-29 C. Now it's been about a week fully colonized, and I'm thinking if I should introduce it to more FAE, dunk and introduce FAE or just keep it like this until some pins form. Flash lights up some droplets, so they might look like knots, but there are none yet.

It's too early to tell. Give it two more weeks and if nothing happens you can give it a dund than apply another, thin, casing and a heavy mist.
