I suspect they have some other actives like beta carboline in them. They glow interesting fluorescent colors under UV light. Even at strong levels the experience is absolutely divine and nothing to fear. I have yet to be "intimidated" by these guys. Very welcoming, aware, happy, and informative. Really just beautiful and forgiving in all aspects.
IME the longer the fruits mature the more potent they are. I like to let them get nice and dark in the gill and wait till they develop pink/peach hues in their stipes.
100% this! I totally buy the idea they have something else like beta carboline, since they have much in common with dmt/harmalas mixture (changa) for me. The experience is in a whole new level of spiritual enhancement. Its the only species I have multiple jars going and probably the only one I will rely on for deeper experiences from now on.

Man, maybe I should have started some of these instead of tamps, they sound awesome. If I remember correctly beta-carbolines were also found in cubensis, so it wouldn't surprise me if they occur in higher quantities in other species. It's like the mushrooms know how to make DMT orally active in humans. Crazy.

Hello all, what do you think about this one? Cased this tub on 4/14 with 50/50 CVG/sand. It colonized and pinned quickly, but seems to have stalled. No changes in the last 6 days. Any suggestions?

I cased these two on the same day.

First tub looks dry. I spray the living fuck out of semperviva, as well as stone producers. They seem to handle it just fine

4th flush on this jar that I put into fruiting a couple of days after new years. By the time it's ready to print the weather should be warm enough to bury in a flower pot outdoors

just str8 sand? Curious to see how that works.
For the record, I tried casing with beach sand mixed with peat moss and verm a couple times but it always looked really detrimental. I now know beach sand is not ideal since its constituents are way different from playground sand and other types of commercial sand.

4th flush is in the books, got some great sized caps shaped like perfect little bowls. Should get some great prints. Maybe I'll even print this flush twice.

Popped open a jar that's been sitting on a shelf for 6 months. This jar fruited around month 3. The fruit reverted back to mycelium and the new mycelium began eating the old mycelium. It fruited again and then looked like it stopped and I assumed that it had went dormant or died.
I was suprised to find an Enigma like gill mutation in the top of the jar. It's only speculation but I think that the colony was earing itself in an attempt to survive. In a hail Mary attempt at getting spores somewhere... anywhere... it put the last of its energy into a gill monstrosity so that it's species might have a chance.
Thinking about it now, I feel kinda bad about it. Feels like I imprisoned this thing for its entire life and it knew...
All the spawn and the mutation went into a flower pot in my front yard.

This is really what I do it all for. Fruits are great, pats on the back from all you fine folks are great but collecting spores brings me so much joy... almost as much as sharing them

How are these looking?
Pic 1: Straight coir. 1/4β pseudocasing. 13 days
Pic 2: Straight coir. No psudocasing. 7 days

Iβve gone through this entire thread multiple times but I still donβt know what to expect for timing. I wanted to keep it simple and Iβm just treating it like my cubes.

Use store sand, like the kind in supermarkets, just boil it 1h. Or steal sand from a local kindergarten, sift it, and then boil.
But i dont make the claim that its a good or perfect casing, its just what I use for my style of subtrops. Ive also fruited them on straight coir or cvg.
in my experience the best pictures here are the dr super mario pics he got this species under _control_
