Yeah I went on the thinner side also. Mine started pinning almost immediately at full colonization before I cased it too and ended up with a decent flush so it might not be a huge deal either.

Cool did do some thin guys too. I just think I got a bunk culture honestly. Curious what more experienced cultivators are getting. But then again I'm polished many turds and I tend to stop working a culture after 2-3 years.

I'm sure it's extremely culture dependent. I've ran them with no casing and exposed grain as well as a thin casing and the results were very similar.

Semps? My labels got destroyed in tent. Guess I cased late pins are buried under case. Tons of other pins these are most mature. If not semps then pans, but kinda hoping semps.

So Iβve always expected these would take a long time to colonize and begin pinningβ¦ Longer than βnormalβ.
Here on this page Iβm actually seeing day estimates. So on average what is the time between full colonization (then casing) and pinning? 28 days after casing?
Part of the reason Iβm asking how slow is slow - is that I have trich showing up on one side / end of the sweater box and Iβm wondering if the semps can put out a few salvage fruits before I have to toss it.

This is my first semp grow but my first flush took about 2 weeks to start pinning after casing and about 2 weeks to mature to the point of dropping spores.
And the 28 days was a joke, you'll notice at the bottom of my post it's only been 19 days since I picked first flush

My first flush pinning was faster than most cubes. They did take a long time to fully mature though.

Thank you for the replies folks Iβll just cross my fingers on the contaminated grow and get this clone culture I have knotting up in the Petri dish on grains soon.

Slow cube or semp? Really just dialed in for gourmets and any actives are a perk.
Only cube was a bunk Ecuador and that grows a lot darker. Believe these again.
Appears to be hay and I would of cased pans. So guess those are semps too???

Hate to keep posting this unknown. It's just growing slowly up and the cap isn't telling me crap. Seem to be drying out so now we're bins in bins.
Cap really is cubelike and stipe is too. Just not used to this slow.

Today I've officially spawned my first Subtrop jar! There's more spawn than actual substrate (the flowerpot is kinda small), but I hope that won't be a problem.
Also, it's funny that the myc smells exactly like Oyster myc. And I mean EXACTLY.

Dude, that's my thoughts too. I keep telling the lady I only want to eat these. Smells like I can fry 'em up for a meal!
