Hi π Iβve had some Spemperviva on plates for a while now and a myco quart fully colonized for about a month. I had some spare cold pasteurized wheat straw (hydrated lime) and I I though βwhat the hell?β So in the end I did a sweater box with a mix of about 60-70 % straw to 40-30% coir verm. The spawn ratio was about 1 : 6-7? I have not spawned anything with so little inoculate before. On top of the inoculated sun I layers about 1 - 1.5 coir verm - to seal off the straw from the air.
Iβm feeling like this is a long shot wish me luck.

This is my Pasty EZD of Semperviva. They pinned 13 days after spawning.

But the pins look odd to me. Also it's the first time I'm growing these - so what do I know
What do you guys think?

Are you guys casing or just running like traditional cubes? My few trays are colonized and marsh mellowing and I want to case like pans.

Best grow I've seen used a pasteurized cactus soil casing.

I cased with potting soil and verm when primordia showed up quicker than expected. They ate the casing but it worked great.

Picked my two jars. Not a bad result for about half a pint of grain in each jar. Still waiting on prints, got a few that have some faint spores after nearly 12 hours.
This was millet into sterilezed coir/cactus soil/verm, then cased with the same mix.

Hello guys. First of all, I would like to thank my "nichrome" friend for his generosity in helping me get into this topic.
While there is very little fruit at the beginning of the subject. Towards the end of the subject, the number of fruits began to be quite high.
I read that you expose it to water once as a cultivation technique. Does anyone continue with this method?
What was the factor that caused the high number of fruit formation at the end of the topic?
Is there something I've overlooked?
For ps. Semperviva subt.

I don't think that's nessecary. I'd bet that a lot of the genetics being passed around now do well in standard conditions and that's why we're suddenly seeing an increase of canopies and successful grows. I've been fruiting them in a JCM Chamber. I've had great results using uncased coir/verm as well as manure based substrate cased with peat/verm.
Lots of people have been getting excellent tubs using shoeboxes and mono's with coir only substrate. Experiment and see what works best for you.

So it's another exotic that can do well on low-tech setups with just coir, like Natalensis. That's honestly great news. I wonder how many other species might be just as easily cultivable as cubes that we're 'missing'

I think natalensis, tamp/Mexicana, and these are about it.
Maybe zaps or pseudo aztecorum wouldnβt be that much different just slow.
