Beautiful, thanks for sharing your report! Sounds absolutely wild! Makes me even more horny to start working with them, haha.

I agree. When I wanted to do mushrooms, I didn't sign up for a rollercoaster. Which is what Cubes are to me. I want a clear mind, elevated body, and overall Zen-like state. Cubes can't do that. All of the folks who say "mushrooms are mushrooms" obviously never ate anything other than cubes, lol

Looking more like it now. It’s been about a year since I dosed, these should be a perfect streak buster.

Odissey! My Man! Thanks for the trip report!

I am so glad you got what you wanted: a deep self-exploration. Really Dude! I'm happy for you and I hope you'll get out of this depression. I know what it feels like and I'm rooting for ya
May I ask a few questions?
- How long was the come up?
- How long was the trip with CEV?
- How long did you stay in the "mushroom space", after CEVs were finished?
And for everyone: how does healthy Subtrop spawn smells like?
I just spawned my first Subtrop shoebox 15 minutes ago. My 3 jars looked clean. The spawn smelled a little bit sweet. Nothing like cubes. And nothing like Mexicana or Tampanensis which smells kinda lemony to me.
In a few days I'll also have 3 more jars to spawn to a Pasty EZD.
I'm so excited about this species!

34g dry is a lot! I'm glad the yields are good with these!

Based on that tub and then the ones fruited in pan type chambers it looks like tjese respond to air levels exactly like tamp.
Plenty of air and they stay smaller and straight, less air and they get long and curly. Assuming it doesn’t hurt the potency that’s a solid way to increase yield.
Mine are tiny, maybe an inch and a half tops.

Hey all,
Update -they finally started to drop spore so I harvested subtropicalis today. Here's how it finished up. Spawned 25/11, so took about ~8 weeks.

Any advice for dosing?

Check Odissey's trip report a little while back - he did 2.1g and went pretty deep.

That was semperviva though right?
I read back through this thread and it seems subs and semps are different species?
The only other trip report on subtrop I could find on shroomery was a little horrifying (lots of 🤮🤮) but I don't expect that's normal...
Made me a little anxious!
@melgo my sub tubs smelled normal.. I didn't notice anything unique or remarkable.

Holy shit that’s a dense tub. Looks like a few heavy spore droppers in there too.
I have no idea how these aren’t more popular. I mean we’ve been seeing canopy after canopy with ms cultures and from a variety of fruiting methods.
I had no idea they got so long and curly like tamp/atl do either.
Bagga how long from pins til harvest?

Oh afaik semperviva is just a different name for subtrop.
The official names/classifications are so confusing for so many species it’s crazy. This one seems to be the most convoluted though when you add in hoog v convexa along with subtrop and semperviva.

Well.. Thanks for correcting my stupid 👍
I thought hoog = semp and subtrop was something else, and history had created a 2 species thread.
@aka your fruits look so different I figured they were different from mine 🙄
These had very low fae, full neglect tek. I kept lids on until the hit the lid then dub-tub.
I haven't been using my grow space (it's cold) so they only had ambient light, which might account for curly growth. Another tub got a little natural light and didn't go crazy curly. Both tubs had average height about 5 1/2 inches.
I don't have exact pin date, but this was December 28. So about 3 weeks from pinning?

Sounds about right as slow as these are.
I could be wrong about the names but I’m pretty sure that’s what I saw.
The way this stuff goes there could be a few different species/subspecies going around as semperviva, wouldn’t surprise me at all.

Someone told me a long time ago, 2.5g and you'll be changed forever (in a good way). So I guess 1g is a good starting point. The only time I tried them I made a tea from 20g fresh but I realized that I wasn't in the best shape for a dose and it was late in the night so I put the tea in the freezer and drank it about 2 weeks later. The effects were mild (no solids just the tea) I'd say about the same as 1.5g regular cubes but experience was nice and gentle. I think the actives degraded when frozen so I don't know what to say about potency.

Thanks Nos,
I'll try 25g fresh and see where it goes. I don't get to trip that often so like to go deep when I can.
My last trip was 16g fresh pans a few months back. Solid, but could have done with a little more.
I'll report back. #science

Yeah... indoor pans hold a lot of water, around 95% ime. I wanna try a semp micro dose tomorrow but I'm not sure about the dose. I'll go for 0.05g and see how that goes.

Oh God... Odissey's report, plus this, plus all the other good things said about this species make me very impatient to try it!
And being impatient for this hobby isn't a good thing
Well at least I spawned 3 jars of Semp yesterday, so not much longer to wait hopefully
