None of the posts, pictures or guides prepare you for how cute these things are in person.
Just had to dubtub my furthest along. I'm hoping timing will work out on one of my boxes that I'll get a chance to eat some of these fresh next weekend.

Well Bad news. NONE of the bell shaped caps left me a spore print, even though a few had spooged in the tub. I have another tub with some bell shaped caps also that i will try again.
Meanwhile here's the last of the first run and the next run is well underway S2B 11/27 from LC from the Bell shaped spore plate, so fingers crossed.

I'll get some swabs and swab a few with bell caps from the tub in first pic before I try to print them. I don't think the first tub went long enough even though a couple did spew in the tub.
Hopefully the 6 shoeboxes that are going will also have the Bell caps as they were made from the same spore plate as the best one.

Looking good Chris. Can I ask what you use for casing? Looks like verm I'm seeing there but looks huge compared to the verm I mix with my peat.
On another Note the new round of Shoeboxes are almost ready to case already. These 6 were all spawned from LC made from the plate that spawned the tub with the best Bell Caps. They are colonizing as fast as the first tub. They were spawned 11/27. Only posting 1 pic as I'm running out of space on site for pics.

Oh and just to show I'm not perfect I did have 1 bad tub out of the first 6. Not sure what happened on this one.

First flush dubbed on the shelf vs second flush in the tent. Flooded it. Still waiting on spores, letting it ride until I need the space.
Xico 1:4 tray prior to being cased & moved into the tent

Xico 1:2 shoebox. First knots spotted yesterday, day 10. Expected this one to take its time tbh, surprised it’s moving so quickly. Cased it this morning, planning on letting it do its thing the usual way

What’s your printing method? I struggled a bit with pans until I printed them on a shoebox lid with the container on top. Before putting the container on top, I give the lid a nice spray with water. After that, super dense prints every single time

Lay them on foil in a Shoebox or SAB. drop of water on each cap and wait. the flat caps printed fine. I put 16 bell caps down and not 1 left a print though.

I did the water drop method. The results were ok at best. The spray is where it’s at! The high humidity definitely helps

For stubborn caps, you can try that:
Quote:
Here's my procedure to get prints:
- Mist Semp mushrooms caps until they change color - once in the morning, once in the evening.
- Wait until they start to drop spores.
- Wait a few more days.
- Day of printing: mist caps until they change color.
- Cut cap, put on foil, put a drop of water on the cap with a syringe, put a shot glass over the cap, or put foil + cap into a very small glass container.
- Wait for 12 to 24 hours.
- Voilà !
Thanks to The Tao, I even go the extra mile of putting a humid cotton square on the cap to maintain humidity, works like a charm.

I have been misting them 3x a day since pins. Mine don't change color when misting but I mist until the water is dripping from the fruits.
Some had dropped spores but I probably could have waited longer.
I think the biggest difference is that I did these in my SAB because I was trying to make so many prints. I usually do them in a shoebox and it stays much more humid than the SAB did.
Either way swabs arrived today so I will swab some as well as try for prints on the last tub.
I have some K cups I can try and put over each cap next go also.
