I'm on somewhat of a break these days. I'm too lazy and have other things going on so my ADHD self can't put so much energy into myco stuff anymore. I still do outdoor experiments tho (mostly woodlovers).

Maybe a bit slow but if that was injected with spores directly then that can take extra time. My quart jars of rye colonized in 18 days with 1/4 plate of agar for starter. But took 2 weeks to grow out the agar from spore.

Awesome! I see you posting one beautiful semp grow after another
How long does it take for your grows to get from first pins to this stage?

Cool thanks. Just can't believe how long they take, every time I take a look I hear the Jeopardy Theme playing in my head. Does anyone think they are taking that long to grow out in the wild during the Mexican rainy season?
I feel like cranking up the temperature to the high 80's and pour 3 cups of water in the tub to make them feel at home.

Lol yeah, game on. I got two more tubs so I can spare one for science. Will rig something up with a reptile infrared bulb and going to mist generously with pooling water and all.

I think it’s a worthy effort and interesting project my man, I just want to add that the extended maturation for these guys seems to have a decent affect on overal potency. I posted some time back on some hplc testing I had done and compared fruits harvested at 2 weeks from pin to 4 weeks and saw a nearly 50% increase in overal potency.
That being said I think it still worthwhile as perhaps the length of time isn’t the issue but rather the level of maturity overall? Considering the 2 week harvest would still be considered juveniles. I dunno just spitballing.

Yeah I can see how grow speed could have an influence on potency. I just want to see if these can be sped up and how they cope with the condition of being super wet and warm. TBH I'm really getting kinda bored right now cause nothing is moving really and on top of that I have a time management issue caused by a very restricted grow space this year. Last year I could branch out to a different room but this time I only have a 15 sqm in which I sleep, do my office and cult work and have the tubs as well. New spawn is ready in two weeks and I don't see the tubs being done by then. But I'm not complaining really, just have to find a way to get this to work. Will probably only top fruit the next Semp jars and will not make any more Semp spawn, the Cubes I could probably just chuck in a corner somewhere in the house and the Tamps will be left to produce stones so the tubs are going back to be used for pans (bisporus! yay).
Better getting back on topic...The reptile infrared bulb I have is too strong and I couldn't find the brewing heat pads so I just have put a regular/incandescent 60w light bulb in the desk light and put it right on top of the tub lid.

This brings the temp up by 4-5oC or 3oF compared to ambient. At the moment it is sitting at ~25oC or 77oF. Maybe I crank up the heater in the room a little to bring it up to over 80oF during the day.

This is how it looked before.

And this is after the monsoon had hit the tub.

It's a lot of water but I think it's better to do more to start with and then dial it back by 50% the next time if it breaks the grow. Trying to work yourself up too the limit is always too much fucking around imo.
Alright, will update soon.

15 square meters, don't tell me you're in the middle of a deforce too. I've been banned to the attic untill I find a new home. But about the moist warm environment.. I have an EZ-dial filled with an few inches of perlite with subtrop sitting in there in shoeboxes. A seedling heat mat underneath turns it into a overly moist environment. this drenched the casing from moisture collecting on the lid. It made me decide to crack the lid a bit.. went with this for the second flush, not sure if they like or hate the soaked 50:50 casing though,.I'll find out soon enough

Oh sorry to hear that bro, hope you are going into a brighter future soon. The house here is just a constant work site for a long time since I do most things myself. Have ripped the kitchen out and now I have to build a new one and until then I can't do much here and this year I will also have a few people coming through to sort out the stuff I have to get done by a professional or else the insurance will play up if I don't have the tickets so no stacks of tubs outside the lockable office.
Your setup sounds great, now let's hope the Semps think so as well. I wished I could find my brewing heat pads which I wanted to hook that up to a voltage controller, looked everywhere

You can see how photo sensitive they are. I turned the top shoebox Nd the biggest mushroom fully rotated like a sunflower, notice how the substrate has been disturbed at its base.

My monotubs have each started fruiting with a casing layer so I'll see how that goes from a yield standpoint.

Those look beefy Derrayld!
Went to bulk 9/16 and got tired of waiting on me so it started pushing mushrooms. This is a bag w/ .2 micron filter patch as the only FAE, no casing and not much light.

Both from same print. The light ones do not like to be misted, the normal ones don't care. Both on cased rye and raised in the same conditions.

These are so much more "hands off" than pans haha. I haven't been good at updating. Lost one shoebox with a poor fitting lid to trich, but my other two are cased as of 11/5. Melgos was starting to pin before the casing, but I cased anyway. Did not do any sand in the casing on this run, but want to experiment a little there.
The Xico wild Semperviva is on agar and moving, but not ready for grain yet. Hopefully in another 2-3 weeks. Will be trying LC for a bunch of small containers as well.
