Do you still grow it? I think you said you pretty much only trip with Semp. So you take from an old stash? Or you take them fresh? ANSWER THEM QUESTIONS MAN!

I usually grow them about every 5-6 years-ish. Usually a good supply that takes that long to work my way through lol. Semps, Zapos and a few other exotics are about all I do, but of those I would say Semps are my favorite and I probably do those the most. Which isn't much really. The last time I tried an old print from the original grows it wasn't viable, but I do have a few more to try. Otherwise I've been working with prints from people all over the world.. most of who originally got them from me or Oli. The last of those was traceable to Saralove who sent me prints a few years ago. Anything beyond that has been the seemingly newer version. With the exception of those I haven't tried yet like the one from 0tol. Soooooooo it looks like if the old prints won't fire up I'm back to the prints Saralove supplied. Which is fine. The last time I grew hers they were as expected but I didn't take any prints from that run so I'm kind of kicking myself. I have a home project kind of holding me back from agar work at the moment, but I need to get in front of the hood for some Zapos so it won't be much longer for another attempt.

The print I'm working on for the last 7 or 8 months, is actually from Oli sent 7 uears ago, and I'm %100 sure is the slowest genetic (fruit wise). But unfortunately I've only managed to get only a few fruit bodies from. Hopefully I'll be able to get some spores printed and at least a few swabs and clones.

Left town for a week and came back to this kind of "set and forget" since casing. dubtubbed them before leaving. and now i gave them a good misting. 3 boxes from different clones. these are just near a window facing northeast, no artificial light.

@the_chosen_one, how's the Zapos trip experience compared to Semp? Since you name that species next to Semp, I'm curious
And I hope you're not feeling the pressure of every member of the Official Ps. Subtropicalis/Semperviva Thread counting on you to revive the old lineage?!

If you need help with it, I'm game to get your second hand coton swabs of Saralove prints to give it a go too!

Oh, I'm used to the pressure.

I've got plenty going on in this thread too.. I just counter with procrastination and other slow ass exotics. Zapotecorum We need to get you over there! I haven't reviewed yet, but I believe I made a rather fringe comparison in a few posts lol.
I'm thinking I might have more than one Saralove print.. I'll check when I get home for my weekend and keep you posted.
Holy shit Chris!

Why don't we consider Oli's prints an old lineage too?
I would. Unless he started using another line somewhere that I'm unaware of. He stopped in a little while back. Maybe we can get his input here.. and see if I am remembering things right.
I don't know why I can't shake the weirdness feeling lol. It's entirely possible I'm just tripping and it's like Aka said. It was 2007-2008 and we were using the most raw prints. I believe Workman had only run a generation of the Heim and Cailleux before giving me a print.
Out of curiosity, what's the largest diameter cap people have been getting? The largest I have had.. and it's been a while, were about 2". The more recent runs have been around an inch.

Yeah, I remember those. Thanks! I also see RoscoeReturns had some pretty close just after. Both look more like what I am accustomed to. Though a little more upturn and canopy. I think I'm going to stress on something else. Like getting the flow hood moved and getting some things up and running again. Jeeze. Maybe if I say it enough times I'll finally crack and just do it. You can see why I like exotics though.. they're never in a hurry lol.

Man mine have all been tiny. Like dime sized, I’d guess half inch maybe. Although if they had been uncurled it might have been a little bigger but not by much. I’ve definitely not had anything near an inch yet.

Yes, I'd say about 2cm is a diameter of an average mature cap, 3 is a big one. Mostly they're small, but it's also the environment. These were grown on dry verm mixed with leftover from two old g2g donor jars. Totally neglected and no fae. They were nocced with Capn's spores. They don't curl, if only a bit when they're like a month old.

Aka. Yours give me the Peter Tingle.

Konbri. Yours look very normal to me for low to no fae.
Chris's too. With the exception of the killer canopy.
Milkboy had the same but his stems may be more from the bag itself.
I don't know exactly what my point is, but I'm keeping you busy while they grow.

Mine are seldom larger than dimes. Maybe a nickel when I did one with extra FAE.
