I think it was like 4 months it sat around.

Cross posting for an update on this. We used a Miraculix test on a sample that A.K.A. sent me. It came in at 1.3% or 13mg/g.

Oh that’s not bad. Did you pick the millet out? If not that might bump it up even more. Not crazy potent but that’s higher than I expected. Now that I think of it, it would’ve been good to test the fruits that came from that spawn also. It kinda seems similar to stem tissue but who knows.

I picked some of the millet out and the coffee grinder kind of helped in that the millet largely bounced around the blades while the myc ground up. So the test sample was mostly myc.
I expected the myc or myceliated grain to be less potent than the fruits, but it is testing better than I expected. I have the remaining grains from the 15 day test in a tub, so we will be able to compare those results eventually... hopefully.
And the aged grain jar test is on going, so we will see how high the grains will test over the next year.

Goddammit, dry bubble!
Clone culture from a Melgo print grow. I didn't case because it started pinning fast, then one or two fungus gnats (treated with BTi), then dry bubble showed up. Not sure if other grows are affected, as they're just starting to knot and don't show obvious signs.
Will bleach kill the dry bubble spores if I soak the (empty) shoebox?

Also, spores are dropping, and I assume it would be stupid to take prints from a dry bubble contam grow. Boo.

The Semps seemed to jump off the agar onto the grain pretty quickly. Not a lot of expansion yet but they are clearly eating the grain now. Jar inoculated 10/7, so only 3 days. This was inoculated with the first spore plate so it may well contam since I know sending spore plates to grain not a great idea but both of my spore plates looked fantastic. I got impatient to try these so if I waste a jar or 2 of rye while my transfers grow out, so be it...
Meanwhile the T1's are doing great. Took 4 transfers from my second spore plate yesterday and sent that plate to a second jar of grain as well.

Nice plates, but make sure I'm hopefully wrong that seems the second plate hosts like hundreds of scattered colonies?

I am super excited to try these out. Snagged a LC syringe from a vendor, put some to agar and the rest to grains. Did my transfers to t1 a few days ago and they are looking nice and clean, didn't see any obvious evidence of contams anywhere on the LC to agar plates either so I have hope for the tester jars to make it as well.
I typically only grow maybe once a year so it is always fun to get back into the swing of things and this time with a new species even more so. I always think I am going to screw things up and contam a lot of stuff but all my agar work(practiced with some refrigerated cube mycelium on agar and other spores I had) has been nice and clean so far, so I guess I still got it.
I've been reading through this thread, the condensed version, and some grow guides as well. I appreciate all the knowledge and experience people have shared. Sounds like it will be a bit different here and there from my cubensis grows but I think it will be fun to figure things out. The longer grow time may give me more time to enjoy the hobby instead of being over and done with so quickly.

I took .75g of these last night and all I can say is wow. One of the best trips of my life. No mind fuckery and the visuals were amazing. 10/10 I guess I am just going to keep growing these forever. Thank you 0t0lerance, and the rest of this community. I could not have done it without the collective knowledge of this place.

They are ready now if you are not going for prints. Looks like there might be some spores forming on the gills though.. hard to tell from pics. If these were the old genetics I would say you have a month to go. Hard to give an estimate really. The genetics now a days are all over the board.
Beautiful work!

You have a few spares.
Might be a good idea to try a few in a week or so. Maybe even try one now.. but yeah, at least a week if not more. I think I did the same thing with my first go and kind of established a groove from there. Pretty sure anyways. It was like 13 to 15 years ago lol.

Yup. See how they are starting to darken on top like some are dropping spores. "It's a Trap!"
They can probably go another week. They have fooled me before when they look like that. I got some light prints off a couple that looked like that, but many didn't drop anything. If you wait, you can get lots of beautiful prints. ime
Crazy nice flush btw.
