Am I short-changing myself my spawning to 100% coir? I'm ready to roll with one jar of clean spawn and have the coir all prepped.
Or am I better off spawning to sterilised, supplemented substrate?

I have tired several substrate combos and have found no improvement in anything over plain old coir or cv for sub. I do use a properly pasteurized peat blend for a thin casing after colonization for the best canopy, though.

Thanks for the quick reply. I know all the information is in this thread and I am slowly wading it through, but sometimes you just need a quick answer, so thanks!

I tried a smaller dose of Semps yesterday - 0.33g. It was pretty underwhelming.
I think I’ve grown out of taking small doses of shrooms now. Proper doses are much more rewarding. Next time I will take at least a gram and if that doesn’t satisfy, back to 2g+

Oh wow! That's a really good information, thanks a lot for that! Just to be sure: "no improvement in anything" including potency, right?

I ran some semps on my pan mix before and didn't notice any change in potency. I need to revisit casing with my next batch, I forgot I used to case. Anyone tried 50:50 coir and verm?

i fruited them only once so far. 70:30 coir:verm worked like a charm. 1/2 inch coir verm casing at full colonisation

1.5g a good dose to start with?
It depends if you have the slow or fast lineage (and I don't know if the slow lineage exist at all atm).
1.5g is a good start yes.
I tripped 3 days ago with fruits coming off of a print from the slow lineage. First time with this same batch was a month ago with 10 grams fresh and I didn't feel much.
This time, I took 1.5g in tea form and had another 0.5g on the ready if needed.
It took 30 minutes to kick in - and then 30 minutes into the trip I had to take the 0.5g booster. Overall at 2g, it was a really nice level 3 trip, with good visual. But defo not enough to feel the Semperviva's spirit presence.
For me 2.5g is where things get really interesting

I eat a gram and the trees shimmer while I walk the dogs in the woods. I think at 2.5 grams the trees would come home with me.

That's so interesting!
Since you received your first Semp print from me, it's observation like these that make me think that the slow/fast lineages don't exist.
- Pinning time is down to some fruiting condition that we don't really understand yet.
- Potency is down to personal sensitivities to what makes the Semp trip so unique.
But at this point, I'm just speculating, thinking aloud really.
Still. Fascinating.
I have Angam's genetics in a shoebox, and in 2 mudda bottles which should pin fairly soon - if it's the "fast" lineage. And I'm still checking the mailbox everyday for a couple more different genetics sources which hopefully will arrive soon-ish.
The search continues

I tend to agree with you. My culture comes from your spores via The Tao, and I was pretty impressed by the potency. Also same culture I’ve had pins in 14 days, or pins in 30 days.
The more I grow these the less I know. Most of my grows have produced larger fruit with thicker stipes. Now I have a tray in my pan FC, so more fresh air and high humidity, and I’m getting smaller shorter fruit with caps that curl up like most I see here. The complete opposite of what I was expecting.

I usually take anywhere between 3g-6g of dried cubes. My 1g trip of semperviva were not at the level of a 3g cube trip, but not far off either.
