The pins were very staggered, coming up over a period of two weeks. The oldest ones are about 30 days old, and they needed to be harvested.

Here are some glamour shots. I love how these look.

They kept getting taller! There were many  around 7in (17.7cm) tall, pencil-straight. The first pins ended up having very thick stipes. Overall, I yielded 14oz with 2 mycoquarts. The genetics you sent, Melgo, are great to work with.

This was my first high-yield successful semp run... I've had some success in the past but not at this level. Now we see if I can duplicate it. I'll start to know soon -- I just cased a couple small tubs. Now, I wait.

I just love this species so much for so many reasons. If I can dial this in, I don't personally care to consume another cube again.

I haven't since my first go with these. and that was like 2008 I think.

Nice work!

Beautiful grow Shruglife. Really nice. Im hoping to achieve this level of success at some point.

What method are you using? Is this in a grow chamber sort of set up with a timed fogger?

Thanks

Once I'm more confident about reproducing this, I'll write something up. The short of it is this: largely informed by Melgo's post, with bits and pieces from Moopers' consolidated info. It's an automated fruiting chamber set to 65F and an humidifier connected to an ink bird hygrometer at 95% humidity. This batch is millet, sent to 100% coir. With a casing layer of under hydrated cactus soil after consolidation.

Same here. Haven't consumed a cube in 7 years, and I've reached the point where in term of activs I don't want to grow anything but Semperviva (and maybe sometimes Mex. A on the side)

Wow, very nice results! Unfortunately I'm seeing mediocre results from my clone.. despite loads of fae in the jcm fc. I got 4 bags going.. 2 bags show shitty fruits. So I'm thinking about going back to spores and moving away from cvg.. as I'm not seeing the results I want and the clone came from a straw:brf:verm substrate.. but I don't like prepping brf... I was thinking about adding manure/straw.. will try the following pasteurized:

0,5 part verm (1liter - quart) 13%
1 part manure (2 liter - quart) 29%
1 part straw (2 liter - quart) 29%
1 part coir (171 gram dry - 6 ounces) 29% - expands to 2 liter - quart
2,5 liter water (estimate...start with 2l)

Thoughts??

The mediocre fruits I'm referring to are these:

I think that’s a fine substrate 0t0, I always use manure with semps they seem to like it, frankly I do the same substrate for these as I do pans.

Thank you kirkeng, funny you mention this, as I was planning on using the same substrate for bisporus and a cambo .. (will follow your unmodified tub growth to the 'T'.) however, I do need to prep some coir on the side as a top layer for the subtropicalis. Let me give this a try, if anyone has another suggestion please do reply, always open for feedback

Just as a note, I always do my top layer with my manure substrate, I don’t bother prepping extra coir for that, also considering I case them eventually. Food for thought, Might save you some time.

Also good luck!

@0t0lerance: is your substrate prepped under field capacity?

No cubensis since my first few grows with them. Pretty sure that was around 08 lol. If anything it might be longer. Got caught up in Zapotecorum in 09 and Falbino was 05-06 ish.. so it's somewhere in that blur. These, some other exotics and wood lovers are about all I do now. These do rate as one of my favorites though. Nothing else is quite the same. They're very unique and special.

I'm really blown away by some of the dosages I'm seeing here btw. Leads me to believe we are dealing with different isolates even more so. Or someone snuck in another find and we are not all dealing with Roger Heims original collection. Based on what I've done more than a gram is incredible to me. I just don't get how you handle the peak at 1g plus doses. I've had lower doses leave me in gasping awe while stuck on the floor.

I have yet to try any of the smaller thick canopy variants and am just starting to work with them and compare. Everything I've worked with has been the sparser but larger fruits that are more like the original grows.

That bag doesn’t look bad. Mine start out like that and the pins just keep coming. Keep it wet and I bet you get a good flush.

I'm really intrigued by the more potent ones, because based on trip reports, seems like the effects seem a bit different as well.

On that note, if anybody is sending prints of these crazy potent varieties, I would be forever grateful to receive one. I'll be working on printing relatively soon to return the favor or pay it forward... I just haven't gotten there quite yet as I'm inexperienced taking prints.

Enter the realm of Zapotecorum..:hehehe:
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/28191179#28191179

They are one of the more challenging species so you have to love roller coasters.
The only exotic species I've really found more difficult than (some) Zapotecorum is Psilocybe Samuiensis. Captain Future, Workman and myself had about the same results. Not a heavy fruiter is probably an understatement.

I agree. That's not a bad start at all 0. The one on the right has an awesome looking stem! That's a good sign IMO.

You see the fat one I'm holding.. that is the one I took the clone from, and now I get gnomes... I don't get it.. a well 6 plates on T0 from spores, will try to grow some new monsters

What kind of yield per quart are you guys seeing?

This is only my second grow of them but both put out 20-25g dry first flush and then just a few weird ones after that.

I think my good clone got like 1.25-1.5oz over two flushes give or take. MS runs were more like 1-1.25oz. Rough estimate though, lots of storage vessels and some doesn’t get weighed all the time.
