Nice! Have you got a link to a post detailing your bottle and tub setup?

Manure is more suited as a substrate composition than casing. Casings with higher nutrient content have higher contam rates. So maybe stick to straight coir, but improve your preparation methods (pasteurization, water content, aseptic techniques, and clean and reliable spawn/substrate)

Morning all. I'm looking for a Semperviva print. Just throwing it out there. I'm keeping my eyes on the marketplace but haven't seen any yet.
Thanks

I'd say you can tell apart cultures roughly by how long they take to pin. Some pin in 2 weeks or so, others take months. But the genetics are still all over the place so you can get anything in between. I'm guessing the slow stuff like my Ambrose culture will get slowly pushed out of cultivation due to how slow they are, despite being ungodly potent.

Hopefully not as long as I'm alive. I like them slow and ungodly potent.

I was thinking of adding manure in small amounts because it's part of some cactus soil mixes, particularly part of what Melgo uses, and I love the result. I know it's not a preferred thing for casing. Straight coir isn't working too well with the genetics that I have, so I'm experimenting. Peat so far got the best primordia, we'll see in a week or so, when the pins are bigger.

The thousand dollar question for me being: is the experience the same with both?! Hopefully I'll find out in a few months. Going to the lab now to do my first T1s of 0t0lerance print

Yeah, got a clone in the FC.. a few days past now. Curious how long I'll be waiting, to be honest. I don't keep track of time.. I just check every now and then and if you see pins it's like christmas. I got some big fat natalensis now.. but for some reason it doesn't feel like christmas, they pin and grow too damn fast.. so, the waiting game is part of the joy of growing.

If the experience is the exact same, I'll take speed
I mean, I need 2.7 grams dried of Semp to have an amazing experience. A fat shoebox gives me ~40 grams dried, a bucket ~30. You get quite a few trips with such harvests.

Well guys, I can send the Ambrose culture to some of you so no worries. I have recently sent out some dried agar pieces since the new trade rules allow it, I'll see if anything recovers for these folks. If it's a success I may as well share
