hello all!

jumping on the semp train. i have spores from hindsight (thank you thank you) and a cooling PC full of plates and pucks. i have read this thread a few couple but before proceeding i have some quick questions for the committee

1. im seeing a loose consensus that the potency seems to be somewhere around 2x cubes, with longer and "clearer" trips. does this sound about right? i know it depends im just looking for some anecdotes

2. confused about whether they like it wet or dry. ive seen posts going in either direction. whats the deal?

3. ive also seen it suggested that they like low FAE. my plan for my first grow is to half fill quart bottles and just loosen the tops to fruit them. is that cool with yall?

4. this species seems to be famous for its immortal mycelium. is it anyones experience that live cultures on slants or in LC hold up especially well? has anyone found out how long is too long?

I'd be very tempted just to lay a sheet of foil on top of that canopy for a few days....

I'm also very curious to see the air current pattern coming off a live standing semp fruit.

Absolutely trying that next time. Maybe a few pieces of foil  placed on top of the shortest fruits. Probably would have worked better than my attempt at taking prints

Harvested 2 days ago and put the stem ends in condiment container for no specific reason.  I have knots. Resilient little buggers.

spaghetti genetics.. again.. despite additional hole on the short side, EZ dial seems to lack fae.. getting fuzzy in there..
:fffuck:

I'll let it ride.. see if some fatter specimens pop up on later flushes.

Nice print considering I forgot about it for 4 days. Cap shrunk down and stuck to the foil.

Curious. Heard from stories and a few people about the grains being active.  Did a quick shake today and the few grains the myc touched were very blue.
Anyone noticed this on a shake?

The myc is indeed very active and tends to have a dark bluing reaction.

Solid prints. Gave the canopy a heavy mist & waited for the  water to absorb twice before taking caps, placed under a shot glass. Didnโ€™t see much after 24 hours so I left them alone for a few days until they dried out

Spawned 2 jars of Xico to a tray to put in the JCM chamber. All coir, squeezed hard. I have 5 myco-quarts of spawn left. Has anyone tried fruiting these in unmodified monos? I don't want to waste the spawn if it's a bad way to go.

I also have three 6qt shoeboxes and some unicorn 3T bags I could use instead.

Iโ€™ve done them in unmodified as I do everything. It is not a bad way to go in my opinion. Iโ€™ve had good results in all successful tubs, minus ones I lost to contamination.

Excellent results!

If I could pick your brain, what size tubs, and how deep of substrate do you go for? Do you also prep your substrate on the dry side?
