I haven't had the pleasure of growing this species, but this flush makes me want to. Spectacular! Lots of great grows in this thread.

That is awesome. Don't recall seeing subtropicalis grown outdoors. The phenotype resembles photos of wild specimens. When you spawn those pots, is it grain layered/sandwiched under the soil, or are you mixing it in with the soil?

First crack at the wild Xico print. This cased tray sat for 3.5 months doing nothing, so I scraped the casing, dunked and re-cased. It's now throwing out sporadic fruits that grow in every direction. The mature caps have a nice wild-type appearance and stay convex, without curling up. Got a lot of work to do, but I'm pleased to have my first ever subtropicales fruits!

That's some sexy lighting Baba. Lovin' all the updates here. I'm running some small test jars. Wild Xico(center) throwing out more fruits, and on either side some Captain Future genetics. The CF line is giving some wild clusters with large fruits, but no spores. The Xico drops spores readily:

That is a spectacular tray there, ekabpils
@TCO - The folds in the cap margin are pretty neat. I got this print a couple of years ago in a marketplace giveaway. I believe that member got them directly from the captain. I'll try to print a few here on the next flush; feel free to pester.

CF line continues to push out some large beautiful fruits:

I have another wild Xico culture pinning, but they are not in any hurry to grow.
Tao, nice semper-chia pet!
