Better said sawdust bags in a gh vs (buried) logs in the forest. I'm interested to know if there is a significant difference in potency between those two tipes of cultivation. In my mind it makes that fruits from the forest would have more active ingredients due to stress/competition. But I wanted to get other opinions.

What mushroom are you talking about? Medicinals meens non psychoactive so thats mostly reishi right? I dont know where reishi grows natually, if temps etc would be right where you live

Ganoderma Resinaceum Ganoderma Lucidum Turkey Tail Made a few clones from the forest nearby and I want to start a mushroom farm to make extracts. From a marketing perspective it sounds better if they are cultivated in the forest but there are also more pests there. I want to offer the best product possible and I don't know if there's a difference in quality.

I don't believe I've ever run across any studies showing higher quantities of medicinals in wild foraged specimens, but I always prefer what nature makes over what I make and tend to think it may be a better product.
Let us know if you find any actual study or anything saying so, I'd be interested.

ive heard wild reishi has different compounds not detected in cultivated..i dont think it is just the eastern higher energy shen or whatever but actual compounds. is it possible they were comparing mycelium extract to wild reishi, ya. of course its likely wild having to beat off invaders deal with cold and dry vs perfect conditions and makes teh mushroom produce more different metabilites to deal with or because of the stress. but cultivated you could just take 4X more.. but i am sure wonderful growers out there like cannabis that instead of growing for pure weight grow for medicinals/ trichomes..
if i come across it I will post. just remember it said it has compounds not seen in cultivated.. but more i think of it i bet it was just comparing to reishi myc extract.. because low amounts and none are VERY different.. we know the wood liek birch adds medicinals just because the wood has these compounds..
