This tek is part of My Closet My Life series making no pour agar
I start as I always do with the warning that I am bi-polar hope you can follow along. We will be using several teks as we go. Please visit https://www.bphope.com if you have bi-polar or maybe just trying to understand your bi-polar spouse or friend.
This is dedicated to the TC's, the OG's, and the future mushers out there. Its not a life for everyone, but its the life I chose. So we going to play a little and try to make some magic hope you enjoy and follow along.
The rules of this game are simple rule 1 patience, rule 2 patience, and rule 3 see rule 1 and rule 2.
Tools I use Modded or Un-modded lid 4 fl oz storage containers. Tinfoil 250ml distilled water 10g Agar-Agar 10g LME Pressure Cooker 1 tbsp measure Small Pot Whisk Strainer
Weigh out 10g LME on paper we use paper because LME is hell of sticky
Place 10g LME in pot Place 250ml distilled room or cold temperature water in pot with LME
Turn on heat and begin whisking the LME until dissolved Take of heat once mixed
Now add 10g agar-agar powder to pot with LME
Whisk until you get as much as you can dissolved, but do not heat the agar-agar to much as it will turn to sludge
Now take your pot and strainer and run the liquid through a strainer
Once strained I place in 250ml measure cup it's just easier for measure. Now take and start putting 1-2 tbsp per container. Some like the agar thick like me so I use 2 tbsp if you want it thin just back it down to 1 or less tbsp.
Place lids on I use modified lids but you don't have to un-modded lids will work. Just make sure the lids are not tight when you PC them or they will be crushed or melted
Place tinfoil and place in pressure cooker
My pressure cooker says 3 qts of water for 3 hours or less, Pressure cook at 15-18 psi for 25 minutes.
Once pressure hits 0 I remove them from pressure cooker and lay them on a flat surface and tighten lids now. I hate slanted agar so that's why I pull them out quick soon as they hit 0 psi. Slanted will work fine just not my preference especially if your going to use MSS.
Keep them tin-foiled up until you are ready to use them
They will last a few weeks I try not to use them to older then 2 weeks, but they should work even after 2 weeks. No special storage required I just leave them at room temp until I inoculate
We used 250ml water and 10g agar/lme should be enough for 10-20 dishes just depends on your thickness

Your recipes says to use 4% agar and 4%LME I guess that's a type you probably meant to say 500ml water instead of 250ml?

In my personal experience I find if I use 5/5g agar/lme for 250ml it just does not set right for me. If you want to make 500ml then 10/10 you can still use. I find 10/10 gives me more rhizo than 5/5. I will do a 5/5 vs 10/10 agar side my side soon and see what I find.
